Well, you see Timmy, cholesterol is a lot like the Transformers. There's a type of cholesterol like the Decepticons, which tries to do bad stuff to your heart and circulatory system, which is like a giant highway. The other type of cholesterol is like the Autobots because with enough of it around, it can keep the bad guys from doing bad things. Good or bad, however, you can't have too much for either because you'll run out of room on the highway and bad things will happen to it anyway.
Of course, there's more to it than that. There are also these things called triglycerides. They're kinda like the Dinobots in the way that I don't know much about them or what they wanna do. All I know is every once in a while I hear cries of "Me Triglyceride, KING!" in news reports. I think they might breathe fire.

Heart disease runs on my mom's side. Not a single great aunt lived past the age of 64. Creepy.
My mom is on meds to help with her cholesterol.Now I am not usually superstitious, but Mom turns 64 in a week.
I kinda meant I was the child, but its actually really good information. Thank you. My kids will be able to better understand while we plan meals for the shopping list.
since it appears to be genetic, don't beat yourself up over it. You couldve been vegan and probably still had issues :/
