I'm more concerned about how Swine Flu might ruin Cinco de Mayo.

I'm not going maypole dancing, but I am going to a 40's style knees up, which sounds like a bit of a giggle . And out for dinner in the evening with my daughter and my parents .

I would wish you luck but that would be a little ****** up. I wish you bad luck? Or would that mean you got it? Hell, I don't know. Shutting up now.

What, nobody mentioned May baskets yet?

Make up a basket - not unlike an Easter basket, full of candy and gifts - and go to the front door of the guy/gal you have a thing for. Knock on the door and wait for him/her to come to door. Run. If your honey chases and catches you, you are now an item.

OK, I'm olde.

Its being hosted by one of the local museums, they're going to have proper 40's music, with male and female singers . Also, they're bringing old people down to give speeches about what it was like during the 2nd world war - not just soldiers, but housewives who struggled with rationing, people that were kids at the time etc .

There's also going to be a little swing dancing, 40's style refreshments, and mock air raids . Gonna be fun ^^

I'm hoping to take some pictures during the event, I'll be sure to share :)

I'd take snow over this 80ish weather. Smiley: mad

I probably won't work today, afterall.

Went to my front door and found myself in the middle of a festival. Smiley: lol

And just saw the Turkish Communist demonstrants and took pictures.

Oh my God. The 5 minute walk from the underground station to my flat just took me 40 minutes. There were 7 live acts along the way and lots of non-live music, as well as activists for LGBT Arab rights, Communism and Anarchy and against Mediaspree (a company that's trying to privatise our shores), Fascism (Radio Antifascista has a huge stage), government, capitalism and rude hand gestures.

And people sitting on trees right in front of my house.

And BBQs.

And one protest by the Turkish Communist Party (the main protest starts in half an hour).
