I'm curious as to how many of you have met one another. haha, I nearly suspect that I've met as many admins as admins have met one another. I know Kao has met DF, Dana, and Mrs. Dana and I know that Pikko has met Exo. Who else has gotten together either for business or just visiting? I've never met Pikko in person, though I've gotten mail from her and she has *delightful* handwriting (so there's a bit of trivia for you).

Nexa

DF, Dana, and Mrs. Dana, Draknorr, Allakhazam, Thayos, Leonae_art, John Maffi, some of the ad people. never met Exo, pikko, fleven, rale, nizdaar, Maia, or most of the newer admin crowd.

Oh and Angsty was a somethin for a while there too and we met him. I don't know that he was an admin *when* we met him, but who cares!

Nexa

Angsty is an admin of his own forums and web page. He hasn't worked here to date.

How many secret admin forums are there that we can't see?

Also, what's the deal with custom forums? You used to be able to type in forum=anything and have a unique, semi-private message board. Why were those implemented in the first place, and why were they disabled?

Someone already mentioned the sanctuary incident. As far as secret admin forums, there are a few of them. Mostly just administrative stuff. Some of the content manager groups have their own. The real stuff happens in the secret IRC channels.

How many PMs do you get on an average day? Also break these pm's down into %'s by category (eg karma 80% gold seller in WoW 10% please ban this poster 10%)

Given the nature of the various anti-spammer tools built into our forum, we can very effectivly prevent spammers these days. About the worst attack we had in recent memory was someone who had created a targetted script to create 60 or so new usernames and have each of those new usernames spam post the same 100 topics. They had a dynamic IP, and were switching hosts left and right and hitting us at about 3am US time so most of the admins were asleep. It only took seconds to clean up after them once we became aware, and there are measures in place so that won't happen again.
I actually remember that. I have no idea why I felt the need to send PMs about it, but I did. XD

If an Admin posts in my journal, can I nuke them?

I dunno. Lets find out.

Edit: i'm not on your access list. So I can't do anything.

Edited, Dec 2nd 2008 12:40pm by Kaolian

I successfully nuked one of Usagi's posts in my journal.

edit: I say that, but in the thread index it still shows the thread as being "Good". However, clicking on the thread shows the first post as negative... I don't have to nuke every post to change the thread do I?

edit2: well, it's gone now. Woot.

If you change it to "Ask an Admin Week" as previously suggested, I might be able to come up with a question that I truly want to ask.

Wordaen, Is it true you like the Pandy forum posters more then any others? or is it just that we stick out like a sore thumb.

LOL, I haven't been called a jive turkey in years. As far as pandy goes, I have to admit a certain masochistic fascination with the shenanigans you all get up to over there...
