Is there anything you guys can do to motivate me to become a Premium Member? I mean, make it something so awesome it would make people jump on the Premium bandwagon immediately.

Bonus question (answer if you feel like it):

Also, do Premium members' extra accounts also get Premium benefits?

well, you really shouldn't have any account but the one. And as far as motivation for premium, other than promising you that if you have premium you'll be spared in the great wombat uprising that sees me ascend to supreme ruler of the world in a few years, you'll be spared.

Other than that, 1 /84607th of every premium penny goes directly to feed my starving computer. It says thank you?

With the recent decline in posts, have you given any thought in doing something to bring back posters and gain new posters?

Forum population is something I watch on a regular basis. There was a huge, huge decline immidiatly after the site was sold, primarily due to the issues with that, and the lack of functional servers. The 8 month delay in server procurement cost us roughly 4,000 regular forum posters. We have been slowly growing since then, though the increased implementation of at work internet filters has slowed that somewhat.

We are actually on the rise again across the main forums. Some of the population has shifted to WoW or Warhammer, but the numbers overall are up.

We have been trying a variety of things to bring back more regulars. some behind the scenes, some more overt. And some are still in the works. I think from a forum perspective, one of the key things will be some enhancements to the forum system itself. Minor bugfixes, better image system tracking, better markup controlls, things like that. Unfortunatly i'm on the bottom of the stack for programmers at the moment.

Other things, we should probably try a few more "free premium" weeks, where people can try everything.

Another thing that should be done and is theoretically still in the works, is merging this forum system with that of all the other zam netwrok sites. With preferences and a post count that followed you all over the place, our population would quintuple overnight, and that would be the boost we need to start upward growth again.

Forum poulations are a gestalt. The faster the forum moves, the more time peopole stay interested, and the more content they generate.

if anyone has other ideas, by all means PM them to me.

Is there some way you can tag certain posters (Joph, Sam, Nexa etc) so that no matter where/what they post, it will automatically end up in =4?

Seriously, that place needs some life, forced or no.

I don't know if this was asked yet. the site had a bit of a problem for a little bit, so i just came to the last page.

Do you guys get wierded out the first time you see a fellow admin in RL, or is it really like you know them well?

Also, if 20k gets admin, what can i get for 10k? the economy is a little shaky atm.

Planks knows that I bought his premium, as do a lot of other people here. I don't see why it would need to be a secret.

Shame the admin notes weren't around a couple years ago, I'd have pages of them.

Just to name a few, and that was just 2005. Edit: Noting that having been threatened with a permanent IP ban, I smartened up and have only done minor things, rarely, often while under the influence of something.

I got a little weirded out when I met Alla for the first time, he's like a celebrity! But it didn't take long to feel like I had known him for years, which I had. Allanois rocked, I met some admins, some asylumers, fun was had by all. I still have a HUGE crush on AngstyCoder. Smiley: inlove

Well, the first time I met any fellow admins in person was when I met a few of the new ones up in Seattle. I hadn't known any of them long, so that was a little akward, but after that, I met Danalog and Peepmouse when they stayed here on the way to seattle for house hunting. The week after that, i met them again,a s well as Darqflame up at allanois. About a year later I met allakhazam.

after you talk with people on the phone and over IRC day in, day out, you start to get a sense of them so for the oens I had known a long time no, it wasn't aqward.

And these days, 20k only gets you a custom title. Forum inflation.

My answer is: When it comes to karma whiners, as much as you may want to kill the system with molten hot pitchforks, I want to do it 50x more. When it comes to making my job moderating easier, I'm all sunshine and flowers.

You pissed off Pikko and myself at various points, but i'd hardly call it a grudge. Admins don't hold grudges long...

I don't remember being mad at bsphil, which makes Kao correct on the second count and very possibly on the first!

I enjoy the funny ones that some people find really annoying. The most recent one I can remember liking was the FFXI candlejack one. That one had me in
