I fUcking hate my job sometimes. Most of the time, I love the freedom it affords me, and the money is good, but some days, I hate it.

Today is one of those days.

I just went out to the kennel building to let the puppies out. Six of them still get to play together, and they frollick and pounce and give funny little puppy growls.

Today there are only five.

During the night, one of the puppies somehow got its head stuck between two parts of the frame of its kennel. It's just all splayed out and cold and stiff. It's dead.

Give the other five lots of attention for awhile. They'll know something is amiss.

If history is any indicator I'll end up keeping it in my freezer for the next four months.

They're all client dogs. All thirty fourthree of them I have now. These puppies, though, I've had since I whelped them four months ago, so I, fUck, I don't know. I guess I'm extra attached to them. And they're fUcking puppies, for Chrissakes.

I've had great luck this year that I haven't lost a single dog other than the one other puppy I had to euthanize. This **** is bound to happen, but it still sucks to be going about my routine and find this little girl all stiff and cold.

The worst part is I just want to get back into my pajamas now, but I've got a looong day ahead of me.

They're all client dogs.

Ouch, so do you have to refund anything or make it up in anyway?

Or is it more of a "Shit happens" moment and they have to get over it?

I advise getting started on your drink of choice either way, as I'd be heartbroken, but I'm sure you're way ahead of me.

I don't owe anything. I lose out on the money I would have made when the puppy was sold, but meh.
