BT is trying to invoke a response from you btw. I need to gain weight before I exercise again.

Yeah, most likely Araxius. The best thing would probably be to follow a "bulking" diet and start weight training. You just might get skinnier if you start running! Not sure what kind of things you eat, but that doesn't matter much for gaining...but if you stick to lean sources of protein you'll maximize muscle gains and minimize fat gains (although, of course, you'll get a little of both). Everyone is different, combination of equal cardio/weight training has always worked best for me.

I have no motivation to even try to gain weight, lol.

Wow, that's be funny if it were true, weren't it?

No, it's funny because I wrote it. That's pretty much always the case.

And while your thread does reek of attention-whoring, you sort of pulled the rest of your rant out of your tight, perfectly molded ***. I mean, I never called you a gutterslut, never said anything about assertive women, never used the word *****, and didn't rate you down until I came back and you were whining about it. Now I'm totally rating you down, though, you ****** little gutterslut.

That's cool Arax...if you're happy where you are, then you're happy where you are. I can't stand being a couch potato too long- I'm definitely not hyper or anything, but kind of like Zackary I pretty much played sports my whole life, so I'm used to it. If I skip a day of gym or kung fu, I tend to feel sort of lethargic and crappy-the few times I have skipped out to continue playing FFXI I have felt worse than if I had gone, even if I am "tired" from work.

Well, judging from the rate-down fairies that visitied my posts, I am assuming such a discussion is highly unpopular. Oh well, I need sleep anyway. I'll just take some of these suggesions and try to get moving a bit in some of the downtime in FFXI instead of reading or forum trolling. Smiley: grin

its more-so mentioning you got rated down is probably why you got rated down.

Well, I did regret mentioning my gender the moment I did...I normally do. If you notice, I didn't mention it at all till the third post. Should I have? Probably not, looking back. I only did it because I noticed that people were probably assuming I was male, so I simply wanted to get that out of the way before anyone told me to start, I don't know, bench pressing the computer desk or something. As much as I'd want to, I doubt I could pull that off.

You know why I get defensive? Because this isn't the first, nor will it be the last time, that people accuse someone of "attention whoring" because they mention they're female on a gaming forum. Seriously, I wasn't seeking male attention, just like-minded people to discuss this stuff with. My nerdy friends aren't fitness gurus, and my friends that are into fitness are definitely not nerdy. I don't think seeking a compromise in a gaming forum and looking for feedback from others is such a crime but all right. Also, I described myself as the "assertive *****" because that's what I am, for the most part. I'm not really a *****, but I can be...just as I'm really not girly in the slightest, though I'll admit I have my moments. No one's perfect.

I don't care about rate-downs, I'd rather people tell me to my face if they have a problem with something I'm saying, rather than clicking a little red arrow. You've expressed your problem with me, and that's fine. I've learned my lesson, I'll just forum RP a big burly male from now on and take what advice I can.

Edited for...crap.

you mentioning all this is taken to mean that it actually means the opposite. i.e. don't say you don't care about being rated down because people will tease the sh*t out of you and rate you down more aka BarkingTurtle style.

Haha. Oh well, I suppose I will handle what comes. :P This is the first forum I have participated in that had this "karma" system...I'm not sure if it appears to be working as intended, hm?

Depends on how bored you are and how much you like messing with other people.

I'm just wondering how other people balance work/school, being active, and gaming since they all require so much time. :P

Is it all that hard? I mean really? Granted, I no longer play the time-suck that is FFXI, but even when I did [actively] play FFXI, I managed time fine. I did all the important shit first, then if I had extra time, I'd play FFXI. Funny, that's what I do on WoW (except on WoW, I don't have to wait around for anything).

I don't mean to derail the thread, but rime, I saw a 9 second mini-van today. I was kinda in shock.

But to rerail, I work out maybe 4-5 times a week, about maybe 40 minutes every time. Usually my schedule is:

Wake up
Shower
Eat
Drive to work
Work
Drive home
Shower
Eat
By this time it's about 7-8~pm, and I usually go to sleep around 1 on worknights. Tomorrow I have the day off so I am later. Back when I played FFXI, I would use that time to play.

and last post, gonna pull a disappearing act like Anna now. hellboy make sure you call my mom >:3

Yeah, what essentially happens is FFXI suffers. Well, I played WoW for nearly 3 years as well (still log on occasionally) and FFXI even before that...and after a while it even becomes difficult with WoW. Honestly, the fact that it takes so long to accomplish anything in FFXI is enough to make me choose the gym over it just about every time. :)

Plus, no matter what, my health > gaming, as much as I love gaming. I just wish I could squeeze in more FFXI time somehow. Time to con the gym owners into putting Xboxes on those TV's...I don't want the sh*tty TV tabloids they put on there, anyway. Who the hell cares what Paris Hilton is doing this week while I could be leveling my main job AND skilling up my rowing or stair-stepping? Heh.

Meh I forgot to mention I work a very stressful job (I'm a substance abuse counselor) and oftentimes I get out of work much later than 5pm and sometimes have to work 12 hour days. So, my time is like, REALLY limited, except on Fridays when I get to leave early because I have, by then, far exceeded 40 hours. O_o
