Just stay away from Maxwell's Plum. They may have over 100 different beers and draughts, but its not the only selection that's large.

I have a huge silver maple in the front yard which is perpetually infested with squirrels. They have a nest in the crook of the limbs, scamper through the branches, chase each other over the lawn and spend all summer fat and happy on the maple seeds.

Yesterday, I stepped outside and saw a big-*** hawk taking off from my tree with a dead squirrels in its talons. There were organs and fur in the lawn. Bleah.

That bartender gave me a quest to clear the rats out of the basement. All I had to do was bring back 10 rat tails to get paid. It was a repeatable quest IIRC.

My mom saw a Bobcat killing a squirrel in her back yard.

It wasn't this cute:

I think my cat would make a great mouse/rat catcher. If not, I could always let my 3-foot ball python roam around for backup.

In terms of success, no, Tom was not very good. But he was relentless. It's kinda like Rudy, in a cartoon mouse killer kinda way.

Stubs, I'm with Senj on this. It's in the Plum that I've heard of the giant rats, from a friend who used to deliver kegs there. I honestly believe a bartender would do that.

At an old house we lived in, Mr. Thumb and I had mice in the walls and in the ceiling. We could hear the scampering little feet all hours of the day and night. It drove our cats batty. We could hear the mice running the length of the ceiling and then our cats would run along the hallways trying to keep up with the mice in the ceiling. I hated that house.

You should see our Barn Rats. I got one that weighed just under 2 pounds one time.

Whenever I get bored at work I go sit in the hayloft with a slingshot and wait for the rats and mice to come out. They actually start coming out pretty quick if you just sit there and be quiet. Takes about 5-10 minutes before you see the big ones coming out of the walls.

Don't have one out there. All I have is a .22 and up and a slingshot. Besides, I rather doubt that a BB gun could kill the buggers in one shot. Maybe a pellet gun, but not a non-CO2 BB gun.
