Around about a thrid of my book collection is made up by the entire works of Terry Pratchett and Tom Holt.

They're both incredibly witty fantasy writers. I reccomend Men at Arms by Terry Pratchett and The Portable Door by Tom Holt. Those being my two favourite books.

Ever tried Robert Asprin Eowol? He's in the same vein, I actually like him more than either of the two you mentioned, i find Pratchet i little bit samey altough "Mort" is pure genius.

A Song of Ice and Fire, imo.

This is the correct answer. I just wish GRRM would finish A Dance of Dragons already.

My favourite books of all time were created by David Eddings.

I highly recommend reading "The redemption of Althalus" (One book.) and "The Belgariad" series (five books.)

The Bonesetter's Daughter

I am currently reading Mary Stewart's Merlin Trilogy again, one of my favorites series.

Daughter of Fortune is a wonderful historical work about Chile.

Daughter of the Forest, start of another of my favorite trilogies.

All of the Rhapsody books are awesome.

The Dark Tower Series or anything by Stephen King.

If you like humorous fantasy, the first dozen or so Xanth books were excellent.

If you like Terry Brooks, try Magic Kingdom for Sale.

As for classics, two of my favorites are Lost Horizon and Dracula. The first brought us Shangri La, the second is the quintessential gothic horror novel and a truly scary book.
