David Sosnowski's Rapture was a pretty good read. A satirical story about people who start growing wings for reasons never really explained. Religious, medical, social etc factions arise between the haves and the have-nots.

A good book though the last third of it gets weak compared to the previous parts.

Anything by Dean Koontz, Stephen King or Robert Ludlum.

Dean Koontz and Stephen King is in the thriller, action, horror, super natural branch.

Robert Ludlum is in the thriller, action branch.

Most people have seen the Bourny Identity (and soon-to-come Bourne Supremacy). Well, Ludlum wrote the books.

If you're a minor with an obsession for adventure and fantasy, JK Rowlings and JRR Tolkien is your thing.
