Are the simpsons dead?Follow

#1 Aug 02 2004 at 9:07 AM Rating: Decent
In the last 2 seasons i've been watching the popular tv show The Simpsons, and have been finding myself laughing less and less at the antics and wit of the show. They've done everything and are becoming repetetive, they make it obvious sometimes and intentionaly trying to do it. It is time for an end to this series in my opinion before they run it through the dirt. They should do one good new episode and then end it, atleast they can go out with a bang. If and when Family Guy comes back to Fox (they have stated that they might bring back the series in Jan 2005 due to great DVD sales) it would probably replace our beloved Simpsons.

The ratings are fine, the cast is cheap.

I think they've got another few years in em.

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

Yeah I feel the same way about the Simpsons. It actually started early with me after season 9 or 10 I felt it went down hill some epsiodes were great but the others eh. Maybe its just that we are getting older or have watched to many Simpson episodes. Take a break buy the old seasons and watch those. ^_^

I honestly can't believe that it's still on after so many years. I mean, the episodes I've seen were amusing, but nothing great. Some of the people that follow it are disturbingly too far into it. My college roommate one year had a Simpsons chessboard, floor mat, two poster, salt & pepper shakers, clock, and a phone. Has it ever really been that worthwhile of a series?

...he never even played with the chessboard. Just set it out on the coffee table as a center piece, like he was proud of it.

/sigh

well simpsons has sucked for a few years
writers have come and gone (some of the best episodes Conan O'Brien helped write)
they should have ended it years ago

and it is one of those shows like Seinfeld, alot of people dont like it because they dont get it

and Family Guy sucks always has thats why it was cancelled in the first place

I gave up on the Simpsons 6-7 years ago. My interest in the show died a quiet, inobstrusive death. It just kind of slowly faded away.

Family Guy had its amusing moments, but I'm not prepared to sit for a half hour waiting for maybe 1-2 of those per episode, max. Probably why it got cancelled.

Apply comment #1 to comment #2. And FYI it is coming back. FOX is just run by morons.

Family Guy is hilarious, it's far better then the Simpsons, ever since Family Guy came out my intrest in The Simpsons hit rock bottom, everything in it is so predictible or just not funny, aaand lame stupid funny...Family Guy on the other hand is completely un predictible thus is the reason why I own all 3 seasons on DVD and own 0 seasons of The Simpsons on DVD. That doesn't mean The Simpson isn't the least bit funny because they do have some good episode ie. the one where Homer is allowed by law to smoke weed...that was gold (even though they did go overboard on what it's like being high)
