~_~ Download and install SpyBot and have it run through your computer. It sounds like you have a ton of 3rd party programs and spyware/adware on your comp.

I only got two words for ya, Zonealarm Pro.
Never see a popup, not on his sight or any. (heh, ***** premium membership)
That and any 3rd party programs trying to get out on the net are identified and can be removed quite easily. (though the removal is manual, atleast you know what it is and the name of the program. I hate Bargins.exe, optomize.exe, and searchbar.exe)

Sheesh... if you use this site a whole lot I think you should get premium membership ^^ you are helping to support something that helps you lots and lots!

But anyway, Adaware is another good one to clean out the spybots

Get rid of your computer, walk to the woods, eat animals raw, and make clothes out of their hides.

why not just use google toolbar to pop-ups..?
..and get Spybot.... make sure you have the new version 1.3..,1.2 is gone the way of the dodo

Actually, XP comes with a built-in file that allows for pop-ups, but it can be disabled. I don't remember how, but I found the info at techtv.com, you should try there.

Yup, that's the one. You also need to delete config.sys I think, and maybe C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder.

;)

Actually, I'd love to see the popup people outed. You know, have someone put all their information out there for the general public. I bet our national murder rate would spike upwards for a couple of days......

Norton Firewall 2004 has an extreamlly good adware/spyware blocker. I get no pop ups and most banners do not display. Also Addware is great for removing any addware already on your system. Norton Firewall is expensive yes, but not if you know where to look =P
