I've seen it probably 96 times. It's on TBS every fifteen minutes or so. I'm waiting for the alternate directors cut to come out where Morgan Freemen's character's narration closes the movie thusly:

Also, it shows what a man can do in there and can be a positive influence on the prison population. Also, it shows that everyone has a limit they can be pushed. Essentially, it's a look at prison life from an angle other than the bad **** that happens. It shows that even prisoners need each other for more than basketball, cigarettes, and **********
