I used Hawaii cuz theyre SICK uniforms, next to texas tech those are my favorites.

I used them because I just like the school, and I like to use teams w/ helmet stickers (I've also been known to use N Carolina, OK State, and SMU for the same reasons).

I also use Temple and Penn State (local), LSU, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Virginia, and Oregon (just cause I like em). Oh, and once and a while Miami too... it's fun to be the Dark Side now and then.

WHOA WHOA WHOA....darkside? Miami is far from the darkside....how about Oklahoma and their late season blunder being rewarded with another *** whoopin a week later, while USC beats the bag out of #4 Michigan.

PS: Texas Tech is the darkside....them in their all black unis...haha i love the red raiders!

Oooooooooooo good call. If I could've played the game like any qb, it would've either been him or Brett Favre. Those, they wear it on their sleeve, man.

All the times he's handed it to NE, I still miss watching the old guy chuck it around.

Hines Ward, great football player? He is far from great. Rice, Swann, Montana, Elway, Hannah....they are the greats. Hines Ward is good, but not great.

The thread is titled favorite football player, not greatest. In the context of today's game, I think Hines Ward is one of the best and most likeable players around. And while I said Jason Elam was the greatest ever, I followed that up with a (well, not really). These are some of my favorite players.

What's up with this Lynn Swann infatuation? I wasn't around to see it, but wasn't John Stallworth better? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Lynn Swann only break 1000 receiving yards a couple of times in his career?

John Elway has this crazy shirt tan that makes me do a double take to see if they're not wearing their whites...

I agree with you about Ward being good and very likeable...but you said yourself he was a great football player. i just said he's not great, but he is good. And Swann made his living in the playoffs, where the real players come to work. Like my boy, Tommy B., 6-0 in the playoffs baby!!!

Lynn Swann made big catches. Whenever the Steelers needed a first down or big play, that was their guy. The numbers don't tell the story...

David Akers. I <3 the Eagles, and my favorite player would be Donnivan McNabb (he played for college in SU, my hometown) if he didn't ***** up every big game he played. >.<

Brett Favre, hands down at least best QB.

John Elway is close too.

Both never really had a great group of recievers around them.

And Favre is the only QB I've seen that can be going in ANY direction and still throw an accurate pass.

Well, Randy Moss is one of the most dominant wide receivers of all time. Sure, he doesn't go all out on every play. But if I'm not mistaken, he hasn't missed a game in his NFL career. So you can't question his toughness. And you can't question his productivity either. My belief is that he'll go down as the 2nd best wide receiver of all time. At least.

1.) Terrell Owens WR Eagles (even before he joined the birds... I guess since he stood on the Star in Dallas).

He's from my home town.

One year the football players were making fun of us soccer players. They said we couldn't get 4 guys on first string. So, 4 of us tried out in 7th grade (JV) and all 4 of us made it. The guy whose position I got: Terrell Owens (in 8th grade BTW). He ended up playing cornerback that whole year.

I wish I could still run a 4.7 forty yard dash.

Well detlef, you successfully refuted your own argument. Moss's productivity depends on him going all out on every play. He isnt very dominant when he runs half speed down the field or misses a block because he didnt feel like exerting himself.

Um, his productivity depends on the number of plays he makes, and he makes a lot of plays. He's the biggest matchup nightmare in the NFL. I don't think (only my opinion) that anyone would question that he is the most dominant wide receiver in the NFL today. Blocking and acting as a decoy are only part of a receiver's job. Don't get me wrong, those are both important elements, but any coach would take the 6-4, 4.4 burner with supreme body control. Regardless of how well he blocks, Randy Moss's productivity is measured in yards and touchdowns.

Wouldnt he make more plays by giving it his full potential every time out on the field?

Just compare Marvin Harrison's numbers the pat couple years. Harrison drew many double teams this past year and still had a phenominal seaon.

If he was a better decoy on his off-plays then he would be more likely to be left open on his on-plays. Therefore he could be more productive.

Moss's greatness entirely depends on his work ethic. IMO he will go down as a flash in the pan.

I may be a little biased because I grew up in Chicago area and saw them play all the time.

Gayle Sayers was very fun to watch and so was Barry Sanders. But my all time favorite was Walter Payton. He pretty much cared nothing about himself when playing and would go all out every day as long as it would help his team.

On defense I loved watching **** Butkas and Mike Singletary play. Never saw such intensity than from those two. Well, Ray Nitchki (sp) was no slouch either. But he played for Green Bay so us Bear fans weren't allowed to like him.
