All of you are philistines. Micro-brews are where its' at-- and not those Red Plank Road "micro-breweries" either. Living near The City gives me access to the Anchor Steam brewery, Gordon Bierch brewery, San Francisco brewery (Jack Dempsey used to be a bouncer there), St. Stan brewery, and a thousand other little Mom & Pop places where the beer has actual flavor in contrast to the watered down mouse pi$$ you heathen like to drink.

PS: If you don't drink stout you grew ovaries instead of balls.

What about Extra Stout? Or am I still a "philistine" for drinking Guiness?

And I'm proud to be a heathen dammit.

I was with you until you mentioned Gordon Biersch. I think most of their beer is pretty bad. Also, they're a fairly big chain of restuarants, not really micro- or Mom & Pop.

Got a serious question that no one really has ever answered. Beer is an aquired taste, no? So, why do you want to aquire a tasted for something that tastes like ****?

Because it makes you feel good.

Plus the fact that you can only really taste the first few.

(Same goes for coffee, tastes like **** when you're a kid)

Has anyone ever tried Spaten or its kindred (...memory fails me at this moment)? It is a malt made in a German brewery that dates back to the 14th century.

Ever taste the Boulevard line that comes out of Kansas City, MO? Regardless of the toothless yokels that make it, its not bad.

The best beer I've ever had was in a little microbrewery near the town of Vilseck, Germany. It was a hefeweizen called Schlodererbrau. Creeping Jesus I miss that stuff.
