3d Renders & Art GalleryFollow

Very Out of Topic... least its in the right place. ^^.

One of my big hobbies used to be, and still is somewhat, 3d modelling, rendering and graphic arts. I play with numerous cad programs, but mainly 3ds max 5 as I really like the way it renders. I would have liked to get into maya and lightstep, but now I've gradually lost my interest in modelling. Feels like too much work for my spare time. At any rate, was wondering if anyone else shares this hobby and/or has some images to share.

Here's some of mine:
Armageddon impact that destroy's planet Earth. (Graphic Art)

Fly by of Mystery Planet (3d Render)

Fly by of Mars? (3d Render)

Translucent Car. Looks like a glass sculpture to me. (3d Render)

Acura RSX stands alone. (3d Render)

Metal Dragon and Princess. (Ex G/F's sketch w/ my photoshop painting.)

Faerie at the Lake. (Ex G/F's sketch w/ my photoshop painting.)

Acura RSX sitting in water. (3d Render)

Artistic R-34 Skyline blend (3d Render & Photoshop work)

Gargoyle Weaps over 9/11 disaster. (Ex G/F's sketch w/ my photoshop painting.)

Well, thats what I could find in my bordum of slow internet at work. The ex g/f's sketches were black and white sketches scanned in on PC and I would do the painting, overlaying, blending, etc... Some images are older than others, and there's no chronilogical order... all I can say is sonic_blue.jpg (The R-34 Skyline) is my latest and most artistic (IMO) render I have made. Anyone have any to share? I'm bored w/ this **** poor connection. Its taking 10+ minutes to load yahoo mail :\

Also, I do not claim to be the original author of the 3d models used in the renders. I have only contributed some parts to the final model and layed out the scene based on my own inspiration. Therefore I take credit only for the render itself.

I use CAD every day but not for artistic reasons...Although my hobbies do involve rendering they are more or less ideas of inventions :P. Silly I know but hopefully I can get it to work haha.

I mainly used CAD to design custom car parts, then add them to pre-existing car models for NFS4. I've copyrighted the parts I absolutely love, but no luck in selling them yet... so its still only a hobby :\

I've designed what I hope to be a main component in that very feild. Mine is more based on running an engine on minimal electricity and get optimal preformance and longevity. One day I hope to put this together and test it out it's application is limitless...

NICE!!!! Good luck with that. I've thought about the feasibility of making a magentic propelled engine but I'm frankly a lil afraid to start any plans of production for it. I have heard government and oil company officials don't look too highly on those that try to invent an engine that doesn't use crude oil. Thats like ultimate greed in my opinion... "Lets destroy the planet so we can make some money... there's better, safer, cheaper solutions such as hydro and/or electric, but nooo... we won't make much money from those."

At any rate, the piston/cylinder setup would be very similar, but where the spark plug is would be a little magnet tip that fluquates in polarity. Therefore, when the piston reaches its apogy, the polarities match and the piston is driven back into the engine... thus making a power stroke on every revolution rather than every other. It'd more or less be a 2 stroke engine w/ no intake and no exhaust. There would still be the requirement for some lubricant inside the cylinders and engine block, but I doubt you'd need compression as you no longer need to make any volitiles combust. I think the idea is feasible with a lot of work and dedication, and would also cut back on over all heat built up by the engine (no more exploding gas and less friction). My only concerns about this engine setup is RPM... obviously you'd be able to get more RPM from this system as the piston is able to revolve at the speed in which the magnet can change polarities. My second concern is how you would govern how the throttle behaves.

eh, bash the idea, or agree with it... I don't particuallarly care... just something I thought of that would be cool and help the planet at the same time. Not like I'm investing time and money into making such an engine... though wouldn't be nice to be the one that did. :p

thnx clover ^^... I'd like to see your stuff... if you need somewhere to post it, Upload them here then just copy and paste the URL after its all done uploading (it will refresh to the image in the browser... cut and paste url from address bar)

EDIT:
Errrr I'm retarded... I saw them >.<... where can I get a blm hat like that? not even AF hat for blm looks that big and impressive. Also, Very VERY nice Rikku... personally, I lack the scetching/drawing aspect of the art... thats why I'll stick with 3d and CAD... the painted sketches are my ex's sketches with my painting and ingunuity behind them. The gargolye pic was kinda dedicated to a New York couple I was living with from Sept. 2002 to May 2003 whom had friends they lost in 9/11.

Exactly how hard is it to load an image, render it and do a screen capture? Sheesh. Can I take a pic of the Mona Lisa **** on it and claim it as mine because I "painted" on it?

My idea is also based on magnitism but it's something I think that is different in appilcation. I know what what you mean about big Biz trashin ppls idea's but the worst is when they buy it off the person and hoard the idea from everyone else. I hope some how I'm able to get past some tttrouble spots and be able to really make some progress.

so true... at first, I had copywriten my parts in hopes that one day I could fabricate and market them for self-profit... now I'm just hoping I'll be able to sell the part design itself for a lower, one time lump sum... it'd be nice to be able to get my life back on track than sitting wishing I could fabricate the parts still. Good luck w/ your idea(s).
