Soloable Abyssea NMs?Follow

Anybody know any soloable Abyssea NMs? I just soloed Guimauve (the SCH accesssory NM). Needed 3 Nursery Nazunas and called a Dipper Yuly at the end for good measure.

Used Atma of Voracious Violet and Atma of the Stronghold, assuming all benefits extend to pets. After the 2nd Nazuna, I didn't have anymore Healing Salves Is and Reward wasn't ready yet so I put Dia II on Guimauve and used the transporter back to the zone entrance and quickly grabbed another one. Only 20 seconds was left on Call Beast so I waited it out and ported back to #6. Because Dia had not yet worn off, Guimauve did not heal up so I just continued the fight. The third Nazuna could've finished it off, but I called Dipper Yuly for mythical TH2. Between the mob's spellcasts, I would melee a bit and use Primal Rend for about 950 damage.

Any other soloable NM stories like this? It would be nice if Adze was soloable this way, but I get the feeling Adze is a little more complicated.

And of course I run the risk of losing the NM when I ported out if somebody else were to grab it (this happened to me yesterday. Somebody killed it when I was running to get more meds and wait out Call Beast. It was at 10% or so)

I've solo'd Raskovnik (for our AF3 mantle) eighteen times (I stopped when I got the drop, finally). I used a single Yuly, with 2x -9% physical damage taken axes, AMK pet: -10% damage taken/haste+5 Anwig Salade, Ferine Quijotes +1 (Stout Servant+1) and a solid reward set (2x Zoraal Ja's, Osode, AF feet, Ogre Gloves, Bison Warbonnet - used ~4-5 zetas a fight). You can even melee up til the 51% mark, but after that you'll want to snarl and stay out of range, because the flower can charmga, which will dismiss your pet, get you charmed, and leave Raskovnik open to be claimed. I'm not sure if it's soloable without the gear - I wasn't willing to try.

Khalamari is very similar, only he doesn't hit nearly as hard, but in exchange he has a nasty TP move (Mantle Pierce) which can do over 1k damage, even with -pdt gear.

Every time I solo'd Raskovnik, I used Atma of the Heavens (Ovni version, for the -pdt) and Atma of the Ebon Hoof (+30% HP), though I'd suggest switching Ebon Hoof out for Vicissitude if you have it (I didn't at the time).

baba yaga is an easy solo. I reccomend Yuly.

the eva+ axes will do better for Yuly vs Rask than the dmg-
OR an eva atma will do the trick.

I've only just got round to doing the pet damage down axe... are evasion axes really THAT good as well? Inventory starting to hurt since I'm full of half-stacks of AF3 seals.

I'm interested in hearing how well the evasion axes do as well. I kind of want to do two of them for my dipper yuly setup to combine with atma of gnarled horn, but every time i think of doing another dual axe magian trial I throw up in my mouth a little.....

Heh I have two chars with BST levelled... I get to do them four times over (well not technically since you can team up now at least).

Evasion axes are ofcourse situational. It will depend on the accuracy of the the mob you are fighting. However +18 eva/axe means +36 pet EVA. Also, the pet EVA earrings from ASA can take you up to +46 EVA

That makes a really big difference. Yuly lasts a long time. add cloak and dagger or siren shadow atma to this and you have one awesome eva tank.

This is a maxing situation ofcourse. I'm not sure on the eva numbers for the atma, but I'm guessing having 2x axes (give or take and earring) is pretty close to 1 atma.

ASA Mission 8 ("Shanttoto in Chains") has the bomb key as reward, which may lead to Silk Slops (lv.53) augmented with "pet: Evasion +1".

Now i´m really **** about gear sets for different purposes/stats, but "pet: evasion+1" in the legs slot....i think rather not.

However, I checked all ASA Missions and could not find any earring reward with pet: evasion on it.

He was probably referring to A Crystalline Prophecy Mission 7, the Ivory Key can get you an Emerald Earring with pet evasion+, which goes up to +5 matching his +10 he said.

yeah, sorry, I meant ACP.

Its a pretty easy pet fight now. I don't remember doing it w/ less than 4 although I'm sure 3 can do it fine and possibly a duo(not sure!). Everyone was interested in it a quick, fun fight for potentially good gear.

Solo'd Gangly Gean mainly using Nazuma tonight. Easy kite if your pet goes down. You can melee on the opposite side of your pet just keep at max casting range to avoid -ga III spells. There doesn't seem to be any way to stun them, Sudden Lunge didn't work for me. Getting hit with poison is actually a good thing so you don't get slept, plus it can be offset with a regen atma. Used Hero/Sellsword atmas.

When soloing chasmic Hornet how did you deal with the possibility of terminal sting?

I guess it's just lottery. I went 1/2 on the torque. I guess you could build TP on it and help finish it off at low HP.

OK so are any of the seal dropping NMs for most jobs actually duoable with 2 BSTs and possibly a third badly two-boxed chucking a pet out when I remember to look at his screen? Or BST+SMN duo to be honest... translation - after a month, I'm developing a rather large hatred for Yoran-Oran.

below are the NM's that drop Ferine Seals. I've added a few notes on my experiences or notes I've read. Please share/added experiences.

Ferine Seal: Feet
Hrosshvalur (NM) Abyssea - Vunkerl - Definitely not a bst fight! (smn can duo, bst pets die quickly)
Seps (NM) Abyssea - Vunkerl - I've only fought in party of 5x pet jobs. not too bad.
Dvalinn (NM) Abyssea - Vunkerl - haven't fought

Ferine Seal: Head

Kharon (NM) Abyssea - Attohwa - haven't fought. wiki implies pet trio
Mielikki (NM) Abyssea - Attohwa - 4x bst can handle well. this fight gets spammed alot.
Warbler (NM) Abyssea - Attohwa - (looks nasty for bst, but dunno)

Ferine Seal: Legs

Flame Skimmer (NM) Abyssea - Misareaux - I think can be done around 3x bst
Sirrush (NM) Abyssea - Misareaux - I've trio'd this. I'm sure bst duo work fine. solo not sure.
Tuskertrap (NM) Abyssea - Misareaux - NOT a bst fight imo. drain samba effect gets nasty at low hp

I don't see any definite solos. I think 3x pet jobs together can do enough to get their seals.

Got my 3rd lunar yesterday and went and soloed Gieremund with cloak and dagger + siren shadow + razed ruins, so 2x major eva atmas. Was 86BST/DNC with 1 +18 eva axe and 1 -PDT axe for a total of -21% PDT gear. Meleed along for the first while but had forgotten my reward reduction head gear so did some semi kiting.

Soloed Khalimari last night as 86BST/DNC. One Yuly, a handful of Zeta. Used one pet -PDT axe and one pet Eva+18 axe. Used Hero atma. For some reason, it seemed like he started the fight with insane accuracy. I had to burn a Zeta and a healing salve rather quickly to keep Yuly alive since timer was down. After that, he couldn't touch Yuly. Very weird.

Anyway, got helm and atma drop.

Flame Skimmer's definitely duoable BST and SMN at 90. Evasive as heck though - I was on SMN to spam evasion down on it but it was still a whiff fest.

Aggressor Antlion can be put on the list, killed him twice solo (/nin) last night to finish up my BLM head. Used Nazuma, Healing Salve I and II, Melee'd with my pet using my normal TP gear. Atmas were Razed Ruin and Impenatrable, rampages upwards of 1.4k without food. Be sure to snarl off your hate. You might need to spam some healing salves from the bastion NPC and pet swaps WILL be required if you don't have the bastion credits for Healing salve II. Very fun fight all up.

Oh and the T2 VNM in Tahrongi was a joke to solo with Nazuma. Working towards Siren Shadow atma.

Capped BA and 4/5 Beast healer btw. Only pet damage down gear I have is AF3+1 legs.

was you using spiral spin? the acc down is nice and noticable and could explain why evasion seemed poor at the start of the fight but better later on.

Even after a few Spiral Spins, he was still hitting Yuly accurately. It was probably just some bad luck.

So far the NMs I've soloed are:
Guimauve
Keesha Poppo
Tonberry Lieje
Ovni
Khlamari
Raskovnik
Baldaur
Bakka
Balaur

Regen atmas helped a lot and a Razed Ruins to speed up the fight.
