Finally hit 75 four nights ago. Used campaign for a lot of my 60+ leveling both for ease of access and because BST is a lot more interesting in campaign than my DRG was (mind you I love my DRG and enjoyed soloing mobs).
Got a tell last night from a lvl 72 BST asking for advice on where to level to 75. I think that is what made it hit home that I had finally made it as a BST. ^_^

Ding 75 BST!
But not before FFXI playing one final cruel joke on my BST leveling experience. I was 2k from 75 leveling on Groundskeepers in Sky. So as usual, I'm fighting a GK with my bird at about 2%, I get the "Please Reconnect Your Controller" message. I frantically start hitting the green XBOX button on my controller hoping it will light back up, but all it does is flash at me. I look up and see the GK walking towards me, so I start digging through my other controllers for a battery to swap out. I find one and manage to get it in the controller while the GK is hitting me w/ like 3 crits in a row. As my BST luck would have it, that battery was dead too.....so I just logged and got my level the next day.
Good times.
But not before FFXI playing one final cruel joke on my BST leveling experience. I was 2k from 75 leveling on Groundskeepers in Sky. I went from 6-60 in 16 days and then really slowed down. It has been a lot of fun. Now its time for merits so i dont really consider this the final ding. :) Congratulations to all the previous bst's before me.

Having issues where I go to a camp and everything is T. Then I come back after a level and it's all DC. Booooooooooooo......
So far using Field Manuals + EM pet + destroying EP seems to be the winning combination. Safe, easy, and relatively quick.

After years of plugging away, I can finally say I did what I've always wanted to accomplish in this game, and that is BST75! Got it last night in a party...

I hit 75 about a month ago. First thing I did was put my AF in storage. Haven't played BST since. Thank god that pointless ordeal is over with. Maybe one day they'll fix the job.

Finally got BST40. ^^ Time to upgrade my gear with what I can and grab that af axe!
You know, I thought I was gonna hate this job when I first started it. But I gotta admit, BST is great! Perhaps it's because I took SMN to 75 first which gave me an affinity towards pet jobs, but I really feel at home with this job. I love being able to simply explore off-the-road places that most people are too scared to go near lol.

I just can't pull myself from FoV areas even after I level above the normal BST levels for the area. Getting xp on DC mobs then an additional 15% of my level added in after just killing 7-10 mobs is really really nice.
I want so bad to go to Korroloka Tunnel on spiders now but Qufim (during non wight/banshee hours) is just too good killing the clippers and pugs.

Stayed in Qufim all the way to 35. Now I ran off to explore Altepa and kill some spiders out there. Again mostly DC and EP but the FoV make it worth it. Currently I clear 10 spiders then run to Rabao to fish until the next day. Repeat.
I'm gunning for a weekend marathon to get to 40. Shouldn't be too bad.

It was really nice leveling solo. Some levels were a bitch but I'm glad I pushed on. Made some easy money while leveling from 74 to 75. Going to keep farming there cause the XP and drops are good. Can't wait to start soloing some NMs for fun.
The best thing about the job was I didn't need to worry about my gear really. I kept it geared well the whole way but it was nice not feeling that I had to just to keep up with the expectations of others.
Now to merit the hell out of it.

From 41-44 I did Ivory Lizards and Mandys in Yhut[tab] Jungle. 44-45 in Zitah.
From the looks of it I will probably ride Zitah to close to 50. Just go a little North from the outpost and suddenly all the /dancers are gone and you have mobs everywhere. Page 2 is a breeze netting 940 which is 12-13% of your level every Vanadiel day!
Goblins aggro by sight and the golem things have a large magic aggro range. Oh and the Goblin Leech pets link every other leech in the zone so don't panic and run because you just won't get far!

45-46 was brutal in Zitah. As all new areas probably are when you first go to them.
There are 3 Funguar spawns that are easy to get to from the outpost. Lots of fast spawning flys and the 2 leeches in the water.
Page 2 or 3 is easy to do around there. When waiting for respawns there are plenty of goblins to blow up. I try and stick to the Robbers so that the Traders can spawn pets keeping the 'blow up gobbie pet' people happy.
Currently at 47 about 2k in. The goal is 50 by the weekend so I can get LB1 done. Coal and mold shouldn't be an issue. I'm worried about finding a way to get the paper ; ;

relatively new BST riding the slow leveling train - ding 25 last night in Jugner on funguars. SIC is pretty nice. 10 more levels to go then 40 after that..*cry*

Zitah now is an absolute playground. Instead of trying to dodge through everything I charm whatever is nearby and clear a path. The leeches (parasites) are still kicking butt and I am just now finding that I complete page 2 or 3 about halfway through the day.

*Dinged 45 last night in my first Exp party since taking up BST. A very nice level sync 31 party in Eastern Altepa. I was puller and put out some nice DD as well. Tiger Familiar with increased movement speed made an excellent puller.
Then we had an Oshi moment when the brd wanted to pull (decided to pull a dhalmel) and linked 2 more O.o.
lol So I Charmed one of the IT ones, Familiar and threw it on on the 2nd while we took down the 3rd and we survived...Party was like ZOMG....sweeeeeeeeeet.

If that isn't leveling BST I don't know what is.
Getting BST to 75 is THE hardest thing in this game. I'm sure of it. The Bad luck NEVER seems to end.

yesterday - ding 30...Shak Maze trying to get a key to drop...this was promptly met with a goblin gangbang and a delevel to 29 after a few fights. Reraise (thank you FoV) back to 30. buffer time.

32 last night... Kraken in Qufim @ 31 is just silly. ripped up page 4 in little more than 15 minutes.

Well, finally picked up enought time to hit 72 on bst, popped on the panther helm. And I thought my elvaan ears looked odd before..

Ding 56!
It took most of Saturday morning to find some help to kill the 3 NM's in Xarc for the Limit Break II quest. Shortly after I dinged 56 and headed to Garliage basement for some Hellmine exploding. Got a key on the 2nd kill :)
Helped some people get behind gate #2 then killed some bomb for Thief AF with them. As a BST/WHM I was suprised to see a (newly earned) Rampage hit for 450+!
