ok so i also posted in the cor threads but also wanted to post here aswell. i am getting pretty high up in the alchemy lvls and cannon shells are on the list of up comming synths. do rangers use or any other bullets anymore.
i mean 90 damage from just the bullet itself along side the gun's base damage could do some major damage. i just looking for ways to profit while skilling crafts and wondered if this is an option?

Cannon shells are very very rarely used (if ever) anymore. New bullets and the base damage increase on higher level guns (that don't use cannon shells) have made them a little obsolete.
I think if there were more available and the price was acceptable, dark adaman bullets would go reasonably quickly. At 70k/stack of 99 bullets they're just too pricey compared to 100-120k/stack of 12 quivers of silvers.
The other consideration is that all but the dedicated have shelved RNG and COR, except for Wildfire spam situations. Low-man situations you won't see either. Maybe after the update the boost from Bounty Shot will be high enough to warrant a RNG slot (along with the refinements they're going to do to procs), but I wouldn't hold my breath too much.
I've been using some archery just because antlions (woodworking) are easier to find and the bows are nice too.

Really no point in RNG using cannon shells anymore. Like Skubsteve said, new guns and ammo give higher damage. It's super easy to get a Ribauldequin with augmented DMG in the the high 40s, and there are better guns to be had.
Meanwhile, dweomer bullets cost ~5k/stack to synth (before HQs) and have DMG: 90. These are way, way cheaper than cannon shells (ballpark 70k+ for 99), and are great for TPing. Dark adaman bullets cost about 20k/stack to synth (before HQs), and have DMG: 105. Even if you can't afford to TP in dark adaman, they make nice slugshot ammo.
The real question... is there any new ammo in today's update? I need to go read the .dat mining threads.
