Just shy of two years, I know a lot has changed but I'm looking for any helpful info on where to get started. I've been looking through a lot of posts and trying visualize the info I'm reading about Abyssea but am kind of lost.
At the time I quit I had some okay gear (oh christ, I think I gave away my Osode before I left!), listed here:

At the time the birds in ToAU were the hotness for XP and people were just getting bant from copying their salvage drops. Any tips on what I should be doing equipment wise, where to level (4 jobs at 75) and major changes to watch for would be appreciated. Will be posting this in the other job forums as well.

Level your NIN first. It's a beast in the new areas.
All levelling should be in Abyssea if you are going for speed. Far exceeds a bird party. Join an alliance in any of the Abyssea zones and kill stuff. Not very complicated.
Save your cruor and get all your veridical conflluxes opened so you can warp inside abyssea easier. Work on getting abyssite tthat give you more time in the Abyssea zones.
Join an Aby LS and start working on getting Atma.. superpowers for the Abyssea Zones.
Work on getting your AF3 gear for NIN.
Work on getting a few good magian weapons, then shoot for an empyrean.
Let RNG rot for a bit until we see if SE is planning to entirely kill of ranged attacking jobs or will offer us a bone to bring us back into the game.
And read the wiki on Abyssea.. Covers a lot of the basics.
