Have yet to Ding 80, but was curious if upgraded Widescan was noticed? We get a new upgrade every 20 levels.. 1 20 40 60, making 80 Widescan VI.

Yes it can.

Just to clear it up: so basically you can use Sekka @ around 150%TP (quite common, for a RNG), pop a WS and still end up with 100%TP? XD

That's pretty nasty!

need about 160 to do it, but... yeah, its 50-100% of a single shot's tp(counting sTP) on top of the tp for actually landing the ws. set up correctly a rng/sam should be getting 20 tp/shot, so 20 from a good conserve tp proc, 20 from hitting the mob, 60 left over from sekkanoki

I've actually been having issues adjusting my play style to the new buffs.

always before i could tell how long to 100 tp by a quick glance at my recast box(barrage/med not up... ok 4 shots)

now.. not always starting at 0/20 tp, "occasionally" getting 40 tp for 1 shot, is sekk up? barrage? double shot?

working double shot in has been tough, since it doesn't stack with anything(other ja/ws) you'd want to use it when they're down, but since it makes tp gain unstable, you want to use it with sekk available for the inevitable tp overshoot

oh well, practice practice practice, we'll figure it out soon.

Playstyle is definately taking a bit of getting used to. I had so much tp going last night at Tinnin that i was actually ripping hate from the plds AT TINNIN when i wasnt holding back.

And yes, you could ws with sekka up and end up ws'sing again, which did happen a couple of times last night. Ws'd with seeka at 160tp >> 100tp. Not at all wise sometimes though lol.

Helped a LS friend yesterday do Frostmane for a hunte registry, Sekka >> SW >> SW >> Reverb >> Barrage >> SW and i died with him at 1%, took all of 20 secs.

Rng/ Sam has officially been getting my ass kicked. TP gain is retarded with conserve tp and sekka and double shot, i face planted 7 times tonight just farming SCNM NM's and 4 times in the blood bathed crown.

I wonder how for long SE will let the RNGs have their fun..... Or even worst, how long it will take for the SAM bandwagon migrate to the RNG's realm.

Well given it wasn't too hard to get killed as /SAM before level 80, it's not too surprising now with more DD toys to play with. And players aren't even using new weapons and ammo yet. I do wish SE had kept the enm- job boost they had previously planned. We are the only DD that has absolutely trash for defensive skills. Being able to limit enmity would be a huge help.

Well, only 2 things comfort me about that:

1- Most of the SAM bandwagon didn't know how to bounce between Hasso and Seigan in the 1st place, so they relied on /NIN for protection. That being said, they probably won't be able to handle the offensive boost of RNG/SAM and will hopefully give up quickly.

2- I won't be around to suffer while they try.

After their 15th death from Hasso -> Sekka -> WS ->WS, they'll be back to SAM. Especially once they see the new ammo prices and die of sticker shock.
If you left RNG for SAM before, those reasons still exist today. Too challenging to play consistently well, too wimpy defensively and too expensive.

Hasso is not worth it for RNG anyway. I fulltime Seigan, period.

If you need to fulltime something, better to be Seigan. However ideally Seigan should precede a WS spam. Aside for that, being a RNG gives you a tactical advantage over SAM to bounce between it and Hasso with more safety due to better visualization of the fight and distance to give you time to react accordingly.

That may be however the biggest challenge for the SAM bandwagon (now RNG bandwagon), since they already kept using /NIN instead of bouncing the abilities.

Here's the problem:

1) /SAM is out fastest TPing SJ, by far; you can't "fulltime" an ability with a 1 min recast if you are dropping it for WS.
2) If you are dropping Hasso before WS, really, what's the point?

I use Third Eye before every WS (it's part of my WS macro), so using Hasso is simply not worth the effort. I understand the whole min/maxing thing, but I look at it this way: if /NIN had an ability that converted 2 shadows into a STR+5 buff, but it shared a timer with your Utsusemi recasts (and set them both to 60s), how useful would this ability be?

You probably missed the "spam" from Ary's post tho. As in "popping Seigan right before you go trigger happy with Meditate, Barrage, Sekkanoki and as many WSs as you can fit in there".

Isolated WSs most likely won't grant RNG enough enmity to keep the mob's/HNM's attention for much longer then it takes for him to get to you, so between CDs it should be safe to use Hasso with only a few sporadic Seigans.

For those that have hit the magic number, what seems to be the proc rate % on conserve TP? It's my understanding that it will give anywhere from 10 to 20 'free' TP after a WS (assuming you are set up for 20TP shots). But how often does it actually kick in? Every 4th ws? Every 10th?

Ding 80 RNG last night in an epic Abyssea run. Started halfway into 79 and finished with capped xp on RNG and 9 merits. Also capped marksmanship and Archery.

Didn't really look at much but did notice the conserve TP trait going off. Was /NIN so I didn't get to try Sekkanoki. Was trying to compare HF+1 vs Anarchy DMG 48 gun but between variable buffs and mob strangths I couldn't get a good feel for any clear difference. Will need to check it out in a different setting.

But really liking having 310 marksmanship skill. Never having leveled a job with A+ skill before, I've never had the pleasure of 300 skill in any weapon.

Yes which was why I said I've never leveled a job with "A+" skills before. With merits and marksmanship gear we still couldn't get to 300 like a WAR could with Great Axe. Looking forward to beating up on sky gods at this level.

totally off topic, but as a war, I feel I need to state that the only way war can get 300 skill at 75is with lolheadsman'sring. Scythe, Gkatana, and Sword are the only A+ weapons that could break 300 w/o sh*tty gear that made breaking 300 pointless. As a monk, I'm required to point this out because 300 skill = +1 base damage for h2h, and up until this update, monk capped at 299, no matter what we did. Just sayin'

My mistake. My only A+ skill was Enfeebling magic on RDM and it wasn't that hard to get to 300 but admittedly there is a lot of Enfeebling skill gear out there for RDM (Af2 hat, Af1 tabard, Master casters hands, enfeebling torque = 44 right there). I imagine there isn't nearly as much out there for weapons. So i apologiize for being imprecise.
