Based on Kestrel's delay and DMG it looks like it might be a contender for Obow (finally lol) but of course...needs good augments or whatever. The rest look meh at best but time will tell...

Ah you're right (I don't use bow anymore so kinda forgot about their relative delays)

Thunderstick definitely yells "gun" due to its delay (and of course, equippable by cor)

Goshawk might be xbow...but still too far away from Obow. Quite possibly Gryfalcon too.

The rest yeah, I would say those are longbows...but again, will need some really good augments to even become comparable to whats already available.

Final form will probably be be customizable via augments. This whole thing screams WOTG form of mythics, especially since a lot of people were put off by gastraphetes.

Just wait until you are 80 RNG/COR and gearing for QD. This ring, S Kote, Scouts Belt and K. Osode will be nice for ensuring against QD resists.


And I agree the weapons are likely a staging sort of thing I imagine through the Magian quest line. But it may also be an Abyssea endgame relic thing.

Remind me again... Rolls are only 50% potency max of what an actual COR could achieve when COR is subbed right, due to the level penalty from COR's level vs target level? So basically even hitting an 11 on a Hunter's roll means a max bonus of +32.5 ranged acc (half of the 65 you'd get for being a Ranger) and chaos would be 15.5 or 20.5 if you had a drk in party... I could see sam roll being useful though, even halved. This is all assuming you could hit 11. Overall even with quick draw the combo doesn't seem potent enough compared to our other subs for real DD potential. I could be wrong though. I haven't really leveled cor myself yet

I'm going through the magian crap atm and gonna post some notable weapons. It seems that you do indeed start off with a base weapon then kill X numtber of Y mobs or X mob Y number of times on Z day or Z weather conditions (go visit the moogle and that will all make sense lol) And there seems to be 2 pathways for each weapon. One path will lead you to general augments (either base damage, -delay, or a combination thereof) while the other pathway is an elemental pathway. You chose which element you want to follow and it follows a set type of augments and attributes (for example fire pathway usually gives STR/att/ratt while wind gives AGI/racc, lightning DEX/acc...etc)
