Does it bother anyone that the rangers pull the bow out of there *** when there about to attack?!

If they were to place the bow on someone's back (the only place it could go) it could conflict with other weapons.

I guess you also expect them to carry quivers too. And does it bother you that you can carry up to 50 items? Are your pockets that big?

I guess all characters should also carry around huge backpacks.

And I'm only joking if you are.

I was talking about weapons...AND ONLY WEAPONS!! Dark knights have the scythe, Mages have their staffs and we pull our bows out of our asses.

To be honest I've never noticed either...I guess it hasn't bothered me.

There has been talk that RNGs would like their bows to hang from their backs like other classes... while I think that would be nice to have, I actually kind of like being unidentified when I walk around town. I know I'm the best class in the game...why do I need to advertise it? :)

Actually...if you have done Ranger AF1 yet, youll notice that the mithra kitty from windy has her bow on her back. i got a lil sore at that, as Square seems to be Able to do allow bows to our backs, but for some reason didnt. It looked a lil goofy though, so maybe thats why. The only advantage i see to having a bow on my back is that perhaps the WONKY bow graphics that happen when i begin pulling it out for a shot & get hit as im doing that (i have people tell me my bow fills their screen witha graphics glitch constantly), maybe having it on my back would eliminate that. who konws.
the could just fix the glitch, id be just as happy.

I think it's an issue of simple graphics logistics.

Most classes rarely use their range equipment. If they made range equipment show, every person would be running around with a boomerang on their thigh, or a bow on their back, or a fishing pole in their belt, that they almost never use. It creates a lot of unnecessary video load.

The basic equipment is one thing. But if they showed rings, earrings, belts, capes, bows, etc. you could expect the game to slow to a crawl for the majority of users. (Keep in mind that this game was designed for PS2)

hehe...speaking of wierd glitches...

Occasionally when I hit my ranged attack macro, it doesn't show my bow until just before I shows me holding my melee weapons in the hand positions as though I was aiming my bow.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Yeah... It just kind of twitches, lol.

It's funny to see it with a Gaxe though ^^

What's cool is crossbow while using a sword sinse unlike bow/dagger where the dagger is just wiggling off to the side you actually point the sword at the enemy like a riffle. I'd imagine staff/xbow might be neat too, but I'm not sure if any classes can use xbows and staves. Paladin maybe, but I think xbows are just war/rng/drk. Although I suppose sycthe would be cool as well.
