After getting Sipar from Adamantoise back in February, I thought I would only use it for skill ups; I was so wrong:
- With the added hidden effect shield block, it's the ideal shield for PLD/WHM tanking in campaign (/whm for reraise I know /rdm is better, I like it more too but rr is too good yada yada yada). I can easily get stoneskin up now (as opposed to size 3 shield), and that saves me plenty of MP I usually spend on cures.
So what's the big accomplishment? Nothing, just a FUNE little story:
- I wanted to pull a Shadowhorn Stormer (gigas MNK campaign mob) out of the pack, turns out they linked and he brought 2 more; there I was knowing I was gonna die (thank you RR!), but I wanted to see how long I could last. So with those 3 MNKs bashing at me, I was using it all: sentinel, rampart, invincible, shield bash, divine seal cure IV, flash, chivalry, anything. The awesome part is that, thanks to the Sipar shield, I blocked almost every attack. This not only gave me huge amounts of TP with 3 mobs bashing at me, but also allowed me to (most of the time) cure myself w/o getting interrupted.
My shield is heavily underlevelled from doing too much campaign >.>
- In the end, I managed to get one down to 50 percent after 7 minutes, at which point I ran out of MP. Most FUNE I've ever had on PLD, and I'm never taking Sipar off in campaign, it's just too cool :D

Went on Dynamis-Xcabard farming run this weekend. From the drop rate and the number of people ahead of me, I should have my Valor Surcoat in about a year, maybe two.

Last night I did Dynamis-San D'Oria, within the first 5 minutes a pair of Valor Gauntlets dropped. I needed to beat a lot of 695. I held my breath and cast lots on them. Zinnuri's lot for the pair of Valor Gauntlets: 759 points.

Finally capped shield over the weekend. Celebrated by putting 2 more shield merits on top of that.
Capped all the combat skills on pld in the process. Aiming for Ground Strike next, (retrib and b.halo:O). Broke time record on Maat for fun, no meds (~4:30ish)
This one's a bit old news but: 2 weeks back, played pld for first time in endgame (dyanmis sandy). Was fun, especially when they had me main tank the nin/bst nm (with everone else overlooking the balcony watching and sending me /emotes). Barely survived its mijin (thank you hp merits) tho I got charmed after >..>
I gotta say tho, playing pld endgame (albeit just starting) was a different type of rush.
On my priority list, pumping in more merits and xp buffer for pld, before I really get my feet wet.

Set the server record for beating the old man just the other day. Server record was 7 min, made it in 6 min 4 sec.
Is it bad that I had "F U MAAT" inscribed on my shield so it would imprint on his forhead every time I Shield Bashed him? >.>
BTW, Carbonara is QUITE handy vs the old man.

Just beat the F!ck out of Maat at 69 with only a yagudo drink and a pamama au lait. There's been a lot of maintenance so it probably doesn't mean sh!t but I beat the record with 6:11 :P
And I had my first experience fighting Hakutaku. I didn't have my cluster yet, I will soon, but it was pretty sweet. Especially when we -almost- full wiped and somehow still beat it :)
Edit: gd it, I didn't see the above poster.... Beat my time by 7 seconds -.- I need to go back and do it under 6 minutes!

After waiting 2years to complete my full drg relic set in april... Completed my pld set last night in Xarcabard, and then proceeded to get blood all over my new coat by getting fragged repeatedly in Bastok Markets campaign. Damn SE though for not giving me a Hauteclaire for MogScam 2008
I eventually got sword and shield merits capped so I can get back to levelling pld again.
