- You've ever told your puller "Pull whatever you want, I'll tank it."

lol I did that one last night in Yhoater Jungle at level all 27 we were killing mandies getting 200xp a pop but puller was complaining about Goblin Smithy. I was getting kind of bored by that I mean hp hit yellow once so I was bored. I pointed at the goblin told him to pull and I will handle him. So he pulled it the two black mages panic and manafront and get nuke happy I was so proud of myself I didnt lose hate after all the mages could toss out. Fight took a few mins but finally droped him I had 24 hp left and no mp. the smn had enough to cast cure on me one time after fight was over. I know it was a waste of xp time but it sure was fun :)

I know I'm only 29 but can be held guilty of 98% of the posts

When in a party and you hear your voke ready sound <call7> go off and instinctively reach for your Provoke macro only to realize:

A) Some one else is using that call to let people know when they have tp

and

B) you are leveling brd...

You watch the hume PLD in the intro movie charge right into the leading line of orcs (and summarily get tossed aside) with a huge surge of pride.

Oh, and you remark with wonder that the Elvaan RNG in the intro movie actually hit something :-P

Omg, just reading back through some of this thread from where I last posted and saw this quote, "We stare at death in the face, and dare it to charge at us... and raise our swords in triumph when it fails to take our lives and that of our PT members..." Beautiful...I love it about as much as my sig.

Good to see somebody else agreed with my post there, starting to think I was only one,... then again I havent read ALL of these. But **** boys and girls Ive been away for a while and I knew this thread would light my heroic fire back underneath me! Its about time for Beliel to strap on his full battle rattle again and ride into combat. Heh, sig speaks it all!

-if a pty member dies from an AoE attack you feel like giving them gil to compensate
-you feel guilty lvl nin for ballista and begin to wonder if ballista is worth having to touch the nin job

I'll also have to say I'm guilty of alot of these. And heres some more...

- When you go /anon in the Dunes wearing nothing but a Bastok Aketon and a dark staff and raise people just for the heck of it.

- When you're in a skill up party with people 10 levels higher than you and you still find ways to keep hate.

- When buying new gear for another job and you just dont get why someone would buy something with -agi.

- When you go to The Eldieme Necropolis and actually enjoy killing undead.

- When you go to Davoi and kill massive amounts of Orcs for trying to kill you when you did PLD flag quest.

- You do a double take when you do over 500 dmg with Vorpal Blade in exp parties. (And then you say to your LS, "See PLD's can do damage too! :D" )

Kite Shield : O
So many of these are so true lol
Here are some, probably have already been added

-When you want to solo tank something, even if its meant to be duo tanked, just to prove you can
-You feel wrong fighting without sword/shield or staff
-You "forget" to put up Utsusemi/Stoneskin while subbing NIN or RDM, just to see some damage done to you
-You know that you have no wheres near as much money as you need to buy some awesome equipment, but still check the AH every day to drool over it
-It feels wrong not ending a conversation with a /salute
-You want to level another job, but if you ever get merits on it, it will go towards your PLD first =p

You might have been playing pld to long if..

You have posted on here 100 times or more.
You delvled all the way back to one just to play the job again.
There are pictures of your pld in every location, tanking.
Your doctor tells you to lay off the sea food it won't make you invincible.
You try to "tank" irl.
You go to work in a ivory white set of armor and try to "provoke" your boss.

You might be a redneck pld if..

If your macro for provoke says "Ya'll come over here."
If you only chose paladin because you hate wearing black.
You made your own armor irl out of tin cans.
You are against having a DRK in your pt.
You only associate with WHM's and PLD's.
You insult/chase/hang/burn/attack RDM's (for being half BLM) BLM's and DRK's.

- when you've told a NIN in your party he can tank if he can keep the hate off you (after they tell you they're main tank)

- you start another character so you can lvl the job again with a different race instead of just starting a new job.

- your BLMs keep adding you to their friend list because they can nuke the living **** out of the mobs (even when they're 2 lvls higher than you) without it even glansing in their direction

- you constantly go out of your way to help other players

You know you've been a pld too long when...

-You put a party together in Kahzam at lvl 27 and purposefully add two dark knights, two black mages and a bard, all lvl 29, just so you can prove to them that they can't even get the mobs to squint at them!
(True story, and made a TON of EXP thanks to the bard's ballads)

-You see the NPC gobs in Lower Jeuno and immediately reach for your provoke macro. (And then get mad when it doesn't work!)
This also works during Halloween in any town =)

-Your friend list consists of nothing but other paladins (except for that **** dark knight mithra fiance of yours)

-You watch "Return of the Jedi" and KNOW you could off both Darth Vader and the Emperor without Luke's help ;)

-You convert each and every member of your LS to paladins at one point or another once they see how cool the job is...

-You gimp Ranger as your subjob, walk through the Dunes, wide scan for ghouls, provoke them, and lead them to the beaches just so everyone else can watch you dust the bastards!

-You want to only pick up the RSE Elder's Bracers and the Holy Phail for your Galka to improve your MP and equip as much VIT gear as possible and munch on seafood while leveling!

-Wish you could shield bash each and every nin/warr you see, just for the fun of it! (see if they can hold THAT hate!)

-You bougth all of your lvl 29 armor ten levels before you got there just to know it's waiting for you (Only two more to go!)

-You're depressed knowing that you're going to have to eventually finish leveling up your warrior to 37 so you have a clear shot to 75 with your paladin (Warr is currently 32)

-You're trailing 3 gobs you're zoning to save your party in Kahzam, see a lvl 75 Paladin pl, and stop to salute him even though it'll probably mean your death. (btw, made it out with 2HP left, and finished salute hehehe)

-Try to provoke your mother off of the rest of your family during those LONG Xmas dinners, using a knife and plate!!

/salute Brother and Sister Paladins!

I'm back. With another reason when you know you've been a pld to long. But this is more of a story. I was playing with DRK in Valkrum lvl 13/6 (war sub). The damage i was dealing was almost the same as my pld did in Yhoator, which is really sad. Well apparently our main tank was a mithra war/thf 13/6 using a GS. Not to mention she had sub-par armor at the time. I was worried she wasn't going to do well. So I pop the old pld macro's ctrl + 4 provoke lol. I tank for a little bit. I was parrying more than she could, and taking the same amount of damage she was. Now war's have higher def the drk's most of the time. But you know I've been pld too long if I decide to just throw caution to the wind and tank as a drk. I have truely succumb to the l33tness that is pld.

- You were about to log on for play at 12pm to do some farming, come here and read 'you knows' for the next two hours and forget to log on.
- You take off your helmet and sword in town to make a point but keep your shield on ^^;
- You rotate your camera angle back and forth just to see that new shield shine *Sparkle*
- You automatically assume the tank will peel the mob off you when you're levelling your alt mage in Valkurm then get happy when they don't and you die. (lol)
- It is just a point of fact when your LS friends 10 levels below you can beat up mobs you can't 10 levels above. (Spirits within, come to me.)
- A Goobbue tempt you but you have to turn around and save a low level farmer that bit off more than they can chew so that you have to heal MP after and they can keep farming (including that Goobbue you saw).
- You are no longer expectant of ever dealing more than 50 damage and is very happy when your damage can compare with a WAR 20 levels below you.
- Are disappointed your alt mage job can't equip any swords at their level. >.>
- Go back to levelling WAR and cry when the mob doesn't love you anymore and runs straight for the PLD. (I'm a PLD too, in another life.)
- Are surprised when people /tell you asking if you need help rather than the other way round. (Anyone ever get /tell asking for gil? Do people think PLDs grow gil-trees? >.>)

Fantastic - and oh so true :D

Every good battle, whether I die or just get close, people are so shocked when I'm laughing and saying "Oh yes! Love that adrenaline rush!!"

Heh, I may still be fairly new to this job, but I'm already guilty of virtually everything mentioned before this, as well as all of these:

- after lv 41, you randomly hug RDMs.
- you pull hate while leveling another job; everyone else freaks out, while you laugh...
- you wish for Flash while tanking as any other job.
- while leveling another job you make the NIN tank's life more difficult just to get a sense of revenge.
- you level WHM and astound your party with a 100+ damage Banish.
- you know the cheapest place/person to buy any DEF+ food from.
- you sub WHM as any other melee while soloing, not so you can heal yourself, but to increase your hate...
- you can tank even with a PL curebombing you.
- you see someone get a link, you draw hate to save them... and you're leveling BLM.
- your life revolves around finding a bigger shield.
- you get killed leveling any other job demonstrating proper tanking technique.

Just a quick lil story; I was duotanking with a NIN the other day and we got into a discussion about hate. He claimed I couldn't hold hate without using Provoke. I let him open with voke, let him finish the Elemental Wheel plus Ninja Debuffs, waited... then, one Flash + Shield Bash + Sentinel later, the mob only has eyes for me. =D
