just returned after a 2 year break, still not sure if sticking, anyways
my WAR was left at 63 (nearly 64) and i plan on soloing groudns of valor due to my low ffxi gaming time,
will most likely be /dnc,
wondering if i should axe/shield or axe/axe.

and keep my combat skills, up to a decent level... at least before abyssea, when i pretty much only needed axe and Gaxe, not other weapons (thanks pld for sword and GS :p)

i imagine when /nin, the extra dual wield tiers would be better, no?
im talking strictly one handed weapons, dual wield, or is fencer (plus shield) that much better?
also, another question, what other weapons combat skills will i need later on? GS, schythe i think i heard, polearm also?

go axe/axe if your must /shield is worthless, even with fencer (does it actually give boost if you use a shield?)
And you will want sword, great sword, staff, club, polearm and scythe skilled if you wanna proc in abyssea (can add dagger to that if you go /nin), also handy to have them capped if your planning on doing any voidwatch
But really, if your soloing GoV you really should go gaxe/grip, and skill your weapons up in abyssea when your 99. Load up on -pdt gear, defender, /dnc, 3 regen atmas and grab 4 or 5 mandys and retaliate them for quick skill ups, I took all my skills to lvl 90 cap in just a few days going in randomly for an hour

was wondering if the crit bonus and wstp bonus was worth it, im definitely using Gaxe/grip as well, both Gaxe and axe were capped for me, and wanted to keep them up to par
