Coming back...questions regarding /DNC?Follow

Hey all... So I've decided to come back and a 5 year disappearance(RL got busy) and i had a few questions to ask the veterans considering alot has changed since i last played..... I did get the WoTg expansion but never really got anywhere due to leaving not too long after it came out... Now i plan to really go all out with WAR and take it to its limits....so here goes:

1) For SOLO PURPOSES ONLY would u recommend using /DNC assuming that there prolly isnt any low level parties?

2) Wut are some things to farm that can help me better support the expensive gear for this job?

3) Are consumable items(ex. Shihei, Silent Oils) still in high demand?

4)And wuts a good computer to use to support FFXI so when the wife and kids are watching tv i can still get some time in? (Currently have it for PS2)...

(Just to put this out there i have looked through the forums for info, and either things seem out of date or im just not lookin in the right place)....

/DNC is great on WAR, but dont overlook Marksmanship, its very effective up til mid- upper levels.

Status bolts & Bloody bolts make exp fly through some levels, especially when you start using food that gives ACC/R-ACC. (plus makes it easy to lvl /RNG for widescan camping).

Prices are way down on gear but really dont know how much work it will be to "Finance" a job.

depending on allegiance, a lot of acceptable gear may be avail. through conquest points. (Bastok)

Some craftable items have gone up in price...because crafting really isnt necessary to gear well (at end game)

Just buy low, when supply is good (I still buy Shihei in stax of bags when AH full & price low, then sell individual bags when supply low....basically get 2-3 free bags per stack this way) A while back I noticed several food items were like 10K each... & a stack was only 25k lol

War is a very versatile job now, & desired at endgame, but only if skilled in all weapons it can use....if I was starting out fresh I would go back every few levels & at least get a few levels of skill in some of the less used weapons.
