Sup Men?

I hope ye are all out there doing your Damage making SAM /blush,because you can.

I read the forum pages back as far as March to answer a question that has been bothering me...Well it only began to bother me when I saw Warriors,in this forum, post different WS Gear Macros for Raging Rush and King's Justice.

In my understanding, this is how it works(in plain English)

So you get a satisfactory amount of TP back after a Weapon Skill. This means getting 16% TP back after you 3 Hit Weapon Skill.
Correct?

Once you have enough TP return after Raging Rush or King's Justice you add Strength.Strength is the only modifier for Raging Rush and King's Justice.

Otherwise use DEX(Raging Rush)
Otherwise use ATK(King's Justice)
Otherwise use ACC.

A few gear pieces are given priority it seems.

Ear: Brutal Earring.

Neck: A sea Gorget.

Ranged Ammo: Bomb Core
(Unless you need Fire Bomblet to reach the satisfactory tp return after Raging Rush or King's Justice).

Most people I assumed for Raging Rush try to stack a lot more Dex for crits, For KJ's I stack Str only. Just how I do it.

It's not as easy as "hey guyz I'm getting 16 TP back gotta stack STR". You need to calculate how much overall acc you have for each WS before thinking about stacking STR and attack and DEX (RR only).

I personally believe that about 405-410acc BEFORE food in your WS macro is sufficient enough. After you contain this amount of acc, you can move things around in order to squeeze in more STR and att and DEX (RR only).

Is there a thread on the discussion on KJ vs RR under optimal equipment setup?

For me personally, KJ has done better, but I have a better setup for it.

Here's my setup for WS.

Perdu/pole/-/bomb core
Aurum/soil/brutal/fowling
Hauberk/Alky/Rajas/Flame
Foragers/Warwolf/Aurum/Aurum

I have the item to get hecatomb hands, but never did as I figured Alky was better for KJ. Also I do have B.Hiadate, but was figuring I have enough acc for KJ.

The reason I'm posting this is that I parsed another WAR/SAM with a similar setup other than Aurum legs->B.Hyidate,Alky->Hecatomb Aurum feet->Hecatomb(I dont have)Aurum head->Askar Head. At mamool stage point his RR avg was at 1150 and my KJ was at around 950(chaos roll). Needless to say I was really suprised. One last thing that made me think a little.....he was using Lyft G.axe and I was using Perdu. Was wondering if you guys think that thise numbers should be right, or there is another hidden trait to Lyft besides the +4STR?

I remember some thread on BG talking about that but (regardless it was signed Starr) ended up along the lines of **** is situational, use RR where you can get decent crits, KJ otherwise (especially low pDIF situations)"

For me that's not really a definite answer in terms of which gear to choose for a given mob :/

RR setup :
Perdu/Claymore/BombCore
HecaCap/Soil/Brutal/Assault
AdaBerk/Heca/Rajas/Triumph
Amemet+1/Warwolf/Byakko/Heca

KJ setup :
Perdu/Claymore/Bomblet
HecaCap/Soil/Brutal/Assault
AdaBerk/Heca/Rajas/Triumph
Amemet+1/WarStone/Shadow/Ares

SC setup :
Perdu/Claymore/BombCore
HecaCap/Soil/Brutal/Assault(Vampire)
Osode/Alky/Rajas/Triumph
Amemet+1/Warwolf/Aurum/Heca

In practice, i didnot make yet specific parses for those WSs in a given situation, but "eyeballed" (god i hate this term sorry ;;) SC definitely owning both KJ and RR on low pDIF situations like DynaXarc.
Between RR and KJ, they are so close honestly i would barely say KJ outperforms RR on mobs where you can't get decent critrate (Einherjar for example) but that's only by a little margin.
In terms of numbers, i put similar numbers to DoctorRough, but i'm surprised about that guy averageing 1150 RRs @ MMJSP (only explanation i see would be you guys were doing lolPuks right ?). Usually, on mamools, i average more around 950ish RRs and 1000ish KJs (i don't use food btw but still 200dmg difference on RRavg is not neglectable).
In terms of gear choices ontopic, i don't have Nlegs or Ares, but sure i'll make tests as soon as Odin/Nidd or GyroGears stop being picky... But for now, i'm more concerned about basic stuff like pDIFs and fSTR, so can't try to answer topic with numbers yet (no data to back me).

I always used to eat pizza+1 on mamools, and the results were awesome. I was able to drop a little more acc out of my setup and ws with a str heavy build. I still used ohat though on those feisty thfs.

i don't use food mostly for parsing purposes, exp being more and more secondary to me. And yes you are correct, pizza makes "awesome" results, so awesome it kinda makes parses less accurate. Just a personal choice + lazyness to go AH etc...

Another note i forgot Doctorough mentioned that dude used Lyft Voulge. Indeed i read somewhere speculations about TP bonus on Lyft weapons, that also might be an explanation to increased RR avg (through better crit rate). But again, not much data to back this: Lyft speculated TP bonus havenot been thoroughly tested, and the only RR crit rate=f(TP) test available is my incomplete one some dudes here "laughed at"...

Would anyone with a Lyft G.Axe mind testing it out doing SA and a WS that gets a +fTP bonus (steel cyclone) on little mobs? DA shouldnt be an issue since the mobs you would be fighting shouldn't have that much HP. fSTR and Ratio would be capped, so it should be fairly easy to isolate the fTP you are getting, with and w/o Lyft. I'd do it, but I dont have one to test.

wtf?

back on topic: in practice i have noticed my RR outperform KJ. as for the "ultimate" ws gear it would probably be something like this:

bravura
pole grip
fire bomblet
heca cap +1
ws gorget
brutal
assault / triumph
armada hauberk
heca hands +1
rajas
triumph
cuchulain's mantle / cerberus +1
warwolf belt / warrior's stone
byakko's haidate / bahram cuisses / ares / heca+1*
heca feet +1

*legs are hard to tell, someone with more knowledge of how str relates to attack on ws would have to answer that.

RR is not supposed to outdo KJ, yet it strangely does.

The thing is - the more STR there is in your set, the more it benefits KJ. So there is a turning point somewhere.

Shirkan - On both cases you want ATK more than STR. Unless you already have fairly high pDIF.

This. It's a fairly good guideline to follow if you don't know the exact AGI of your foe. RR will not always outdo KJ. In my experience, RR has been more favorable on trash/anything around lolibri level or lower. KJ definitely is beefier on... beefier stuff. On paper, KJ should outdo RR on almost everything, but people like their really high RR numbers. As a default, I'd go with KJ, it's more consistent, and it chains better than RR. And honestly unless your dex gear is godly and you're a mithra, KJ should do better on most things on average.

So a gorget beats a PCC for general-use on multihits, too? I know it does for SC, but for RR/KJ when is the point where you move from a PCC to a gorget?

e- other than the obvious "acc capped situations". How much acc does the gorget add per WS? The wiki is ... not specific.

Always, because they both have accuracy+10, and the gorget has something else too.

Ah, wiki didn't say acc+10... sweet as hell.

Thank you all for the great replies.

I've changed my WS macros to suit the two weapons skills.I have a lot of gear to play with all I'm missing really is my Blue Haub and N head.I got sea years ago and I only got off my lazy **** and farmed my WS torques since I started this thread and got the UFO organs, they aint so tough. The torques for sure have added more Bam.

I was never a big believer in using kitty legs for raging rush on anything but Birdz,I started to use them full time and also added more acc in my RR WS in different situations.I had wonderful results.

As for Kings Justice,I got it when it first came out but took a FFXI break,I never really got to play with it.It can be a powerful WS,it needs to be fed,it's a hungry WS.I have no acc issues,so I feed it STR.

I also now understand the need for ACC when it's not just for hiting a mob but also helping you to be higher than a mobs EVA and stuff.
Higher acc over a mobs EVA causes more dmg or crits during non ws/melee dmg?

Overall,if I want to do big numbers I will go RR,it far exceeds my KJ,except maybe in salvage or ein I use both depending my SC bud.

Melee DMG/DoT/Non WS DMG is what the FFXI god gave us WARs.Even if our WS are **** and u have good gear, you can still out parce most job classes at stuff like ein, limbus and dyna etc.

Food is the answer to big for WS numbers and DoT.I guess new WAR will be.. liek omg is food that good, why dunt dey teel me?
I guess the Forum Gurus like lolg are blue in the face from saying it-
EAT MEAT,love meat..feed your GA.
