AH warFollow

I'm looking for advice on pieces of equipment to wear that I can obtain from AH to gear my 75 war as best as possible for TP and WS. I ask this because I barely do end game stuff, I'm starting on Nyzul and Einherjar (sp?) but still haven't had the chance to grab equipment from there.

So if you have any suggestion on what should I buy for TP/WS(including weapons) to get the best out of my war please post them.

So when you say you want AH gear because you barely do end game stuff, are we talking about just gear that could be bought on AH? Are you a newer player with limited gil on top of having no end game LS? Just excluding sea/sky?

perdu voulge - you don't need end game for this, just shout for rank ups and merit (you need merits if you don't have the rare/ex gear)
berserker's axe would be next best, not sure why someone thinks 88/474 10atk would be better than 95/504, but fourth is okay if gil is limited

bomblet if you have the gil, bombcore if you don't

turban should definitely be gotten, it's "AH" in the sense you can just buy the coins
optical hat is also worth trying to get, which you just need to find a group going and get the cluster

PCC if you have the gil, chiv chain if you don't

What are the min reqs for being able to get Brutal? Think you just need to do one limbus run, but after that you can just buy coins
Assault earring is your best buyable one, fowling or merman after that

Haub(+1) and if you happen to get askar body from nyzul only Possibly worthwhile if you have enough STP to drop a hit

Dusk gloves for tp, alky bracelets are best for KJ/SC iirc, tara +1 for RR

Rajas/Ulth are a nice pair, you can work for Iota with Einherjar pretty quickly
Snipers/woods for tp otherwise, use whichever you have. Flame ring can be a good WS ring depending on what your using and on what (acc can be more important). If gil isn't a factor snipers+1/tors

Forager's or Cuch's depending on your acc and WS

Swift can be gotten relatively easily without an end game linkshell. Drop rate is debatable. Life belt is your next best tp option
WS in potent, possibly warwolf, though again with AH gear, acc more of an issue

Exocist's hose are okay 3str/acc, I would use them over thick's 2/5. RK breeches are pretty nice as well with 2dex/str 1.5acc/4.5atk, also worth using over thick. Askar are awesome if you can get them from nyzul with 5atk/acc 4dex

Dusk/Unicorn for tp, thick shoes (+1) for ws, then AF
Aurum are from ZNM, so you can try to find a ZNM LS or just shout to get, those are your best tp and also a solid ws booties. Amir boots are also relatively easy to get and 6acc/5atk is a good tp and ws piece given limited options

So it really depends on what your constraints are. There is a lot of gear that isn't buyable, but doesn't require end game linkshells to get (swift belt, perdu voulge, aurum boots, optical hat). Just because you don't have an end game LS, doesn't mean you'll be stuck with only AH gear.

ZNMs and assaults are two places to get some of the best warrior gear around!

since you probably dont have pcc/pca, you'd be using chiv chain. so dont use ecphoria ring and get sniper/woods/blood instead.

I wear acc rings for raging rush, but I dont have Rajas yet. It's really up to you. If you feel you can hold up acc as good without a woodsman's ring then go for it. Really though, It's unlikely you have capped acc on weaponskill without one.

Mojo I have no doubt that you are correct regarding the acc cap on the birdies (just based on what I've read from other threads) I was just hoping someone would tell me I was probably "close enough" that the difference would be negligible. Seeing as how I plan to go 8/8 in Gaxe maybe I can get "close enough." I really need to take some time and work with the math so I can answer my own questions regarding this stuff. In the meantime rate-ups for all your patient responses (not limited to Mojo of course).

The truth of the matter is I've been wearing snipers rings for so long that I was excited to have the opportunity to add Flame Ring as a ws swap because to be honest I think it looks F@#$^&g sweet. So in short I can't say for sure that I will switch to an acc ring in that 2nd ring slot (I full-time Rajas) until I have the opportunity to use SC more often (read: at all) because for some retarded reason I just love my Flame Ring. Perhaps its the placebo effect but I think wearing a Flame Ring actually increases the diameter of the wearer's testicles. . . Just a thought.

P.S. Although previously mentioned, it merits restating: LolGaxe your daughter is beautiful! I hope she turns out to be a sound sleeper for you ;)

This is my reasoning behind a lot of what I do. If you are happy with your flame ring results, go for it, your acc on birds should be decent and will only get better as you cap out merits. You're going to be getting what, ~+12 acc from the rest of your merits?

For some reason everyone forgot to mention Barone Shorts. 6atk and 2 str is pretty good and it's what I run till I can get some kitty pants or askar dirs

yup, back when I was an AH war, I tp'd in Barone and ws'd in exorcism hose.

Good point Lord Mne. However, in my case, gil isn't really an issue for me now after leveling BST. I am currently looking into getting myself a Hauberk +1 but other than that I have pretty much all the AH gear I could want. My goal for the summer is to get Aurum boots, kitty pants, and a Perdu Voulge, all of which are more of a time constraint than a gil constraint.

I've actually got a ls that is doing Byakko kills for me everytime I get cheap pop items but sadly I am 0/2 so far on pants. The deal is I buy or farm the pop items and they kill for me. I get my choice of 1 drop. I did get myself some heca hands but alas no pants. On that note I have what may be a noobish question. . . if more than one thf is registered in the hate log when a mob is killed does that increase drop rate? i.e. if I had multiple THF on a Byakko kill would it increase drop rate of teh pants?

No i wasnt suggesting Tarasque +1 > Heca, I use Heca myself, like MD said I was listing AH gear that could be used.

I didnt cross out Rajas because I wasnt sure if the OP had finished CoP and obtained the ring, if he/she did then rajas would be an obvious choice over woodsman, if not then dual woodsman would be best for tp imo.

If it makes you feel any better I just sold my beloved dusk boots to replace the gil spent on my recently purchased Jupiter Staff to still be on track for purchasing Haub +1 as well.

(Dusk boots are really just a rdm piece for me now, for farming and the occasional /nin solo I do, but they aren't something i'd widely use like Jupiter or Hauberk +1, and I also have Nashira boots for Haste +1 on rdm at least.)

do some einherjar and get an iota ring, then you can put another ~100k toward that hauberk+1. some people think iota sucks and i kinda agree its not that great, but still.

5.25 acc > 5 acc
3 dex > 0 dex
3 vit > 0 vit

and to a much lesser extent:
3 agi > 0 agi
0 def > -def
0 eva > -eva

Valid point I suppose, but not overly concerned w/ the Iota upgrade right now as it is too minor for me to commit my time to. Its not that I am opposed to einherjar its just that I am going to try to spam sky to get a haidate which is a monumental upgrade for me (hopefully some heca feet too).

Any other endgame type stuff I do will just take away from time with my sky shell which farms/pops 4 days a week. Since Haidate drops are attendance based and its a new shell if I am diligent I will get one reasonably quickly. Beyond that my major concern is Perdu Voulge and maybe ZNM for Aurum bootz. So, einherjar is something for the fall perhaps. Then I can wait 1.5 yrs for an adaberk lol -.-
