The Warrior's Mead Hall Axe Massacre Playlist is live!

Preferably enjoyed while getting drunk.

That is the most awesome playlist I've ever seen. And it has the Ultimate Warrior. I'd give it the Seal of Approval ... but due to circumstances beyond my control and an orbital cannon fixed over me, I cannot at this time.

rofl old thread, but fun thread.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQZfGa5t4e8

song that i frequent the most (for now), i love the layering and the atmosphere is just so well done. i would recommend listening alone, in a quiet environment, better quality than youtube, almost blistering loud on a fancy huge can headphones, drugs are helpful and just absorb into it.

Friend (roommatein college) that used to play bass in a metal band got me into in flames. They have some really good melodic older stuff (off reroute to remain) that I like. When I got GHIII legends of rock and they had an inflames song on it i was thrilled, turned out to be take this life. Can't say I wasn't pleased... i love playing that song.

Since we're all appreciating music in this thread I'll throw this one in: Animals As Leaders. Never even heard of them till a buddy of mine told me to take a listen to it, and I haven't stopped listening since.

This particular song starts off real chill but builds up into a real good jam later on. Purely instrumental band as far as I can tell, but if anything I would think Redshift might get a kick out of these guys as he seems to be into unusual sound bands like I am.

Dynas, if you like how on impulse begins, you would probably like the band Bears in the Yukon. 3 person instrumental from Seattle. I would say AAL is more interesting than BITY, but if you listen to instrumental as frequently as I do, then you know the flavour of your mood changes and sometimes you just want to listen to something slower/faster/diff (atmosphere/style)/etc

As far as AAL is concerned Redshift pretty much any of their songs are worth checking out, not sure about albums yet as I only discovered them like...less than a week ago. Tempting Time though is a good jam.

BITY wasn't too bad, but if you like these guys you might like Explosions in the Sky, particularly the song Your Hand in Mine. Real chill instrumental song.

Everyone knows EITS!

First breath after comma is my favourite song of theirs, but that entire album shines (the earth is not a cold dead place). Honestly, I only like that one album; their other albums just don't do it for me at all.*

If you like ambient strings, check out Yndi Halda; love those guys. I listen to Dash and Blast so many times everyday. The UK has a lot of talent, I suspect there's something in the water.

*It's funny, the first person I met on Quetz shared the same interests as me. He even agreed with me about EITS (only one great album), <3 GYBE, in college studying math and was almost as **** retentive about spellcast as me. I thought the server was going to be awesome, but it wasn't... not even close.

Been in a very lovey dovey mood, listening to A Song For Starlit Beaches by Yndi Halda a lot lately. It's 20min long and the only lyrics are at the very end, "There would be birdsong over the flooded beach. We would be daylight over the shipwreck-sands."
