BLM best staff?Follow

After playing for awhile, mostly duoing without much huge partying, my dad and GF and myself decided to try and get our mythic weapons. I personally love BLM however looking at the staff 50 MAB looks good but I know affinity is better. My question is for just plain nuking is it better to get the ToM staffs, mythic, or relic staff for BLM.

A side question; how good is the SCH staff? Getting into SCH curious if the staff was worth it.

For your stanadard nukes, the appropriate element ToTM staff will be your best bet. Mythic, I would think, is the best option if you ever find yourself with Meteor which is non-elemental damage and not affected by elemental affinity on any of the ToTM staves. But thats a lot of effort for a pretty rare spell thats only worth casting in a group of other black mages.

Are all the new ToTM staves better than HQ elemental staffs. Do they have the same hidden effect because looking over the stats it doesn't seem that good xD

ToTM staves are still better than HQ staves for damage and its element fast cast, but if you want to save space and don't have time to invest in making ToTM staves, look into making Chatoyant Staff if you have all 8 HQ staves already (barring Earth/Terra for pdt).

But is there a hidden effect to these staffs that's not posted in the description? Because how can Indra's Staff have better DMG than Jupiter's Staff. When JupiterĀ“s Staff has 15% more dmg on thunder spells?

Does these changes help other jobs like BRD for elegy and Summoners for avatar perp cost? So if you get the ToTM staffs the old HQ staffs will be useless (except Terra's for PDT)

Apajamas staff has Thunder Damage Affinity +6, which gives it a 35% increase in thunder spells over Jupiter's 15%.

The ToTM staves are as is meaning if you want DMG, Macc, and Perp then you would have to make 3 separate ToTM staves for the element.

All right! I read on FFXIClopedia about the staffs but didn't really understand it. There's like 20 different staffs for each element. got really confused xD

It's easiest to think of ToTM staffs as speciality staffs. Elemental staffs are great all-purpose staffs for Avatar Perp, MDmg, and MAcc. ToTM lets you pick one of those categories and boost it significantly, while the other two decrease. MAcc on a fully upgraded MDmg staff is roughly equal to NQ elemental staffs (which people consider a downgrade because HQ is the standard) and Avatar Perp is nonexistent.

With the TotM staves, if I start a trial do I have to complete trial or can I log off and continue taking down (monsters name) when I log back on in same zone?
