Should I be going for Shareeravadi +2 or Varuna +2 for Ice spell damage?

The +5 Damage Affinity Varuna's +2 (and Indra's +2, etc) will beat 9 INT / 12 Magic Att. by a significant amount in any realistic circumstances.

Yeah, as per Wiki's Magic Affinity page (below), Magic Affinity Damage values much higher than any other stat per point. The Ice Sharee... whatever will give you like 10-20% damage depending on how much MAB you begin with, which doesn't even approach an MDMG magian.

Dam your're **** hardcore, idk if I could ever stand to.do them all. Finished ice and in the middle of dmg.portion of lightning. How did you proceed to finish the light n dark dmg staves since blm doesn't have alot of choices in those elements? I have a nagging feeling they will be.required in the future for meteor n comet but the trials look like a pain in the ass.

Well first of all, the Surya's Staff is Cure Potency, not MDMG ^^; I don't know who casts enough banishes to find that staff worthwhile but it's certainly not me! I mean doing that trial would take 10 times more banish casts than I've ever even done in the first place.

For the Darkness MDMG staff I went RDM/SCH and meleed EP mobs down to 8% or under then went for the drain killshot. For the last killshot trial on that staff I had to kill a full 50 extra mobs because Drains would not do enough to count! I hear other people have suggested coming on BLM/WHM to Abyssea and using Cataclysm, but I preferred the low risk path.
