Any tips I recall reading this on here on alla just can't recall details and tactics anyone care to share what they do and mobs this is effective on besides worms???? Is it just nukeJa --- sleepIIga rinse and repeat any atmas tips for this???

Pretty much, obviously stoneskin and/or manawall is required, they will still interrupt you pretty often.

Mobs that hit faster for lower damage, like chigoes, work better than stuff that hits like a truck. Any +stoneskin gear is good to have, gorget is simple to get now that cap is lifted on promyvion. Cast sleepga in -pdt gear, don't let phalanx wear off.

Cool any tips on best mobs and areas? Chigoes in achasm sound like a winning target need /sch for me since my skills are lacking and don't have sleepga2 yet...

I generally go /sch and use manifestation sleep2 seems to work well for most things.

Not that I'm doubting you or anything but I never would have thought of taurus in vunkerl. What makes you say that? I suppose that they are pretty close packed, and right by martello/conflux which is nice but they always seemed like such nasty mobs I don't think i'd ever have tried em. I like the spheroids, they aggro and link easy and nice low hp.

Wow that's pretty awesome, ill have to give it a try. I did amoebas pre update but I think now that they get elemental celerity I wouldn't be able to get sleepga off before they're spells hit.

If one were to start completely from scratch with the intention of doing this, what would be the optimum way of doing it? I haven't really done much with mages before (41 WHM, 28 BLM, 28 SCH, 19 RDM), and I lack a lot of skill, gear, and general knowledge about them.
One thing I do have, however, is time. And Minikin Atma, though I lack basically any other decent mage atma.
I do have a friend with RDM 65 willing to finish it up to 90 and merit Phalanx 2 5/5. Since I can basically utilize that at any time, I'm thinking /SCH would be an easier approach due to less need to spend a lot of time skilling up, but I'm not sure if there are negatives to that being overlooked.

I've got Taurus in Vunk down to a science now. Just curious Rog, what are your preferred mobs in the other zones?

Now am BLM82, working on collecting spell scrolls and skilling up (elemental 267, enfeeble 140, dark 120, still work to do...) and have a pop set for Beyond NM. Picked up a couple of HQ staves and the Teal set. Working on a PDT set (farming Dark Rings while skilling up, too) ... am I at least heading the right direction here?
