I'm looking at the spell lists and it makes sense to me that between Black and White mages things would be pretty even just with different spells. One thing is that White Mages can hold shields but black mages can't. Not that big of deal though.
However, looking at the spell lists, by level 25 white mages have things like INVISIBILITY and RAISE.
Looking at the Black Mage list? DOTs and some Nukes, which are equal counterparts to the White Mages healing and regen\dia type spells. However it seems we get screwed in the area of special unique abilites. Our one interesting spells, Drain is only level 12, yet its some hard quest, and its only available in one location.
Looking further down the list its just more Nukes and DOTs. We get a spell to teleport to our home point. Big deal its like death without the exp loss, maybe save a little time. Some useless spell for teleporting corpses. THATS IT. Wheres cool stuff like setting our own bind points or something? If the White Mage can do something like BRING PEOPLE BACK TO LIFE, why is our library of spells limited to all DOTs and Nukes?
I realise the main point of each is White heals damage and Black deals it, but if White Mages have unique abilities like Raise and Regen, and even are given out to Paladins and Red Mages as well, why does the Black Mage get nothing unique?
