So, when I activate Light Arts I get the following:
Divine: 43 (white)
Healing: 45 (blue)
Enhancing: 45 (blue)
Enfeebling: 45 (blue)
Elemental: 41 (blue)
Dark: 8 (white)

I can explain the elemental. Light Arts doesn't effect it and it's still capped from getting BLM to 20.
However, when I use Light Arts, my Divine Skill was always been two points lower than Healing/Enfeebling/Enhancing, which are all "still capped" from leveling WHM and RDM.

But how I THOUGHT the Arts were supposed to work, was they'd give me B+ capped skill in the appropriate Magic Skill Categories. The Arts certainly seem to raise the cap from the D+ to the B+, but they don't seem to be capping them all the way. They only seem to be the full +2 Skill Points capped if I had already had the skill leveled higher than the current B+ cap from Arts.

Is this how it's supposed to work? Am I SEEING 43 Divine but I'm really getting 45 Divine like the other "Light" Skills?

Same thing happens to Dark Magic when I use Dark Arts.

WHM is only level 20, and Divine Skill was nowhere near cap. I think it was 11 when I first noticed this weird 2-point difference. I'm currently killing things SCH/WHM full-timing light arts and Banishing the hell out of things I fight to see if "capping" Divine Magic skill to the D+ rating SCH has naturally will raise Divine by those 2 missing points and turn it blue (capped).

It's really freakin confusing though. I read your post but I didn't quite understand what you were trying to say.

My Enfeebling, Healing, Elemental and Enhancing magics are all leveled above the current B+ cap that SCH gets from using Arts, so I'm assuming that's the only reason they appear blue and two points higher than those skills that aren't capped from previous leveling (Divine and Dark).

Edit: Update:
I'm level 16 now, Divine just hit 18 Skill and I'm getting 45 Divine and 48 in Healing/Enhancing/Enfeebling from Light Arts.
17: Divine Skill is level 20 Naturally, Light Arts gives me 48 Divine, 50 Healing, 51 Enhancing/Enfeebling. I'll have to check my WHM main when I go back to MH to see what Healing skill is naturally. Nope, wait, apparently it's 46 (according to Dark Arts).

There's really no deep end involved. I was simply under the impression that the use of Light Arts or Dark Arts would automatically raise your skill to the cap for B+ at your level. I thought that was one of the many amazing things about Light/Dark Arts.

Obviously I'm going to work on capping them anyway. I guess it makes a bit of sense that if you didn't put in the work/hours to cap them naturally then you shouldn't just be handed capped skills with the use of a JA with a minute recast, however, I was simply pointing out that this was new information to me, and I'd like to know how it works.

If I'm reading this right, it seems I simply need to get the particular magic skill capped for my natural D+ rating, and when I use Light/Dark Arts I'll get a blue, capped B+ skill rating in that magic skill.

Light arts and dark arts will not cap skills they scale skills up you still have to get to the natural none light/dark arts cap yourself then when you use light/dark arts it will take them to B+ cap.

It works like merits, if you have gimp magic skills then put merits into said skills it will never cap them until you reach your natural cap.
