I only ever use it for SS. Elemental staffs for just about all other spells are vastly superior.

Its great for reducing gear required to hit SS cap in Light or Dark Arts. Other than that even NQ > Kirin on Helix, unless you haven't actually beaten the target's INT but at that point you shouldn't be using Helix spells.

No one's going to tell you to use this for anything but SS (I hope). However, I just wanted to point out that while at 75 it is very easy to hit the SS cap without this pole, it is most useful when casting SS while in Dark Arts as enhancing skill would be much lower.

I use it while meleeing with Swift Belt, Walahra, and Goliard Body with a Brutal Earring in Campaign.

Hits hard!

Kirin's Pole is just for hitting the cap on Stoneskin while freeing up slots for other gear, most preferably Haste to reduce recasts.

Another corner case to use Kirin's Pole in would be for SCH/BLM in Excavation Duty to break the last known tier (INT 150+) on elemental debuffs.

Otherwise stick with your elemental staves, even if they're NQ onry.
