Obis and Spell AccuracyFollow

I've hunting Sea currently, collecting Obis (which are a God-send for SCH). However, I'd like to get some opinions on something. It's often thought (or at least assumed) that weather and day affects not only potency, but accuracy of the spell. On my part, I believe I've seen a noticable difference in Gravity and Silence sticks when it's Iceday, and higher full-resist rates (at least at really low levels) on all my DRK spells on Lightsday.

Wikia is vague on the details. Do we know for certain that weather and day affects spell accuracy?

This is my opinion, I don't have proof.

weather/day affects accuracy

obi doesn't grant that accuracy full time, like it does with DMG

Klimaform does grant that accuracy

I personally think that the acc bonus from day/weather is constant. It's too hard to test otherwise, but I see a noticeable increase in acc from day/weather. If I were to eyeball it, I'd put it around +5-10% accuracy boost.

I don't personally believe that the obi assists with acc bonus, but the damage increase makes it worth wearing anyway, as there isn't much else to put in that slot regardless *argute belt is pretty much only thing that could argue that point*.

Since when is 5% noticeable?

The test should be fairly simple.

Pick a neutral day or the week.

Head to Sea and grab a Goldfish.
No gear/Grimore > spam paralyze. D skill should result in a lot of resists.

Add Hailstorm (no obi) > moar paralyze.

Hailstorm + Obi > still moar paralyze!

Pros:
Because the goldfish will never attack you, it's one consistent mob, for as long as the test will take. Might have to chase it down every now and again, but you could do this all day, really.

Paralyze is 6mp with a 10 second recast = 36mp/min.

With Arts/Weather/Gear/Klimaform, SCH is pretty well buffed to provide a plethora of "baseline" tests (ie. D => B => A skill ranges).

I don't think Hpemde have elemental strengths/weaknesses, which could make them good test subjects for multiple enfeebles.

This can also be tested in reverse, throwing up Firestorm.

Cons:
It'll be really hard to figure potency, as there is no "attack", so nothing can be stopped.

My SCH is only 44, which makes it hard for me to just "run and up do this".

Perhaps any time someone can "notice" it?

Just because you may be less perceptive than I am doesn't mean that a 5% boost in accuracy isn't noticeable by me. I'm pretty sure an idiot savant in math would consider a 1% increase to be noticeable.

In the many many hours I've spent casting nukes, I've noticed fewer resists on the appropriate day and/or under the appropriate weather than without. My guess is that it's a macc bonus equivalent to the potency bonus you receive. I'll go so far to say that, unless casting on a mob that has an enormous innate resistance toward the given element, I've personally never seen any of my own nukes get resisted with the appropriate day AND double weather.

I'll go with the converse here, but it's also fairly noticeable to eyeball the increasing resists when you cast the spell of the opposing weather/day. Assuming this is correct, it's pretty safe to say there is an accuracy bonus as well when you cast on the proper day/weather. Again, never really bothered to test it, but just by eyeballing it I would say yes, you can notice the difference.

I do belive weather/day affect accuracy; mostly of a personal experience. When taking SCH trough puddings, I leveled from 73->74 almost at the same time windsday changed to icesday.

With blizzard IV available; I immediately started using Hailstorm. The thing is that my gravities where noticeable shorter. And this made no sense since I gained more enfeebling skill (Both from level and from Elite Beret).

The only possible explanation I could make was that I went from double Wind to double Ice bonuses.

Could be an error in eyeballing and probabilistic; or Extremely rare luck? maybe. But I was there almost all of windsday and all of Icesday; and soloing does tend to make you notice when a debuff fails you =P

Gravity does "appear" to be much much shorter duration on ice day. I have noticed that as well over years of soloing puddings.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure puddings can only resist stun during earth weather

I'm seconding that weather and day of the week improve accuracy, in my experience.
