Ok... now that I'm pretty sure I'm posting this in the right forum this time....

I'm reaching 68 and was starting to wonder how the Cobra Cloche set compared to other eq. I see alot of equipment comparison out there but nothing comparing these pieces really.

It's been a long time since I've looked at mage dd gear and it all seemed easier back when there was less stuff to choose from.

I'm mainly looking at the hand piece, since I just realized sch doesn't get zenith, and the feet since the head piece doesn't look like much and I figured mahatma is better than the legs anyway.

Look into getting these. I don't have them myself but i hear they aren't that hard to get and with the sam MAB as Z mitts they are worth looking in to.

Now I dont keep hard data. Cant really parse and do good testing on a PS2. But being rdm was my first job to 75 and now with sch at 75 I have some understanding of mage gear and attributes. Magic Acc is a very hard to pin point stat as far as my understanding goes. Which begs the question of SE to just tell us what the **** the stuff does...But whatever.

Now I decided to get the Cobra Unit Gloves. I have master casters, errant but coming from rdm...I rarely nuked. Since I dont do endgame too often. I noticed a slight difference but honestly the errant kinda outweighed it. I started to get depressed.

Then I decided to get the feet too. And then I noticed something. My helix spells, my nukes were all doing 10-20 points higher on campagin mobs and puddings. Thats all that had changed in my gear. Replaced errant, and elvaan rse feet with the two. Which makes we wonder just how much the MACC is. I decided for kicks to grab the hat too, noticed a 2nd not as noticable increase.

Overall tho, until we figure out what the MACC for the set is. You're going to be taking working on faith. I'm sure its probably going to be a nice boost, esp for the set to lack any INT or MND.

I would go for it. But not the whole set, definitly two pieces since they are offically the easist of our options to get. I got my head in two weeks. Mix em, match him, Yigit, Zgear(if you like sky...>.> Hate it!).

Im happy with mine. Plus the mp and hp bonus is nice.

the gear in terms of raw DD:

head - AF is better

body - not out yet (i have high hopes for it)

hands - vicious mufflers are better, cant get these then yigit

legs - errant are better

feet - yigit are better

however, this gear has 4 perks:
1: you can get them by yourself without help.
2: they offer conserve mp which has its places.
3: the set offers magic accuracy which (depending on how much accuracy) can or can not be overcome with a mismatch of other gear. however, golliard probably does better in this department
4: best gear 68-72 and until you can swap them out with the better stuff.

One thing that's quite nice about the pieces is they all give a decent boost to HP and MP, maybe it's not so important for other races but as a taru I'd like to boost my HP a little and the cobra unit pieces do that while still giving ok stats for nuking.
