Hello, I just had a question and if I missed it already just link me to it and I'm sorry for using up your time. But my question is how do Helix's fair against these ZNM's?
I ask b/c I went to help a smn get their gaurda head piece. Well I had the BRD give me Etudes' b/c I came with all MP gear thinking I was healing and such. So with it and some gear that I had on me that had INT I was doing (w/ Storms) landing 120 on the first cast.
I did not buy dark or light helix's until just now b/c well..I haven't had a use for them, but seeing as I got more SMN friends and it's a very impressive DoT at least to me, maybe 120 a tick..a better equipped SCH can do better.
So any other ZNM's out there that SCH's are having success with dealing Helix dmg? Please let me know. My LS is currently doing them as an event..I'd like to go in with some knowledge rather than learn the hard way.

I need to ask around, but I believe that SCH's will have better helices on non mage mobs. Since Helix spell damage has a Mob INT vs Player INT check, you are going to see lower numbers on mobs with high INT (BLM, RDM, etc) vs regular Melee mobs that have lower INT.

Could also try to use Burn, Sound Blast, or Absorb-INT on the enemy to lower their INT before casting the Helix.

INT down moves I never tried on the ZNM I did, so far it's the only one I have fought. Ob is next on the to-do list. Just was curious to if I was just lucky against that NM or if it happens in other ZNM's that's all ^^

The only ZNMs I've done as SCH are the puk, Chigre, the marid, Lil Apkallu, and the imp. Of those the only one I had any resists on was the imp. His INT doesn't seem to be as high as the Heraldic Imps though because my resists weren't abysmal.

Dea is also very succeptible to helix spells. Today we killed him twice and i was landing anemohelix on windsday with wind weather for 115-133. Very nice as we kited him around the postern i basically sat at one side and when he came around the corner i would helix him and go back to whatever i was doing. The black mages and nuking sch's on the other hand were getting killed repeatedly for their up front nuke damage. I didn't pull hate the entire fight.
