Stuck on the job quest :: World of Warcraft

I'm trying to unlock SCH and the guide here says simply head to Batallia J-10, enter Eldieme and head down to J-8 and talk to Erlene.
Sounds easy, except Erlene isn't there. Tried searching even far beyond J-8, but no Erlene anywhere...
I tried googling a bit and it says she won't appear if the area is under beast control, which it isn't, or if it's under beastman attack. I don't understand that last part... How can I tell if an area is under beastman attack? And how long would such an attack take? I'm pretty new to WoTG and the useless 4 page manual that came with the game doesn't mention anything about it. Thanks for your time.
