What atmas are people using for rudra's? I have Daka +2. Since it has dex as a mod, I have RR, and Apoc for the triple attack. Currently using 1 evasion atma while soloing NMs, otherwise usually have VV on too since I'm on sam a lot as well.

SS should be your natural choice since you'll be force crit'ing it.

I tried SS the other day... and still not impressed with Rudra's damage. (4k on yearner with 300 TP).
With the FM requirement and a flourish that eats all stored FM, Rudra is really not that good of an empy WS.

I personally do
Razed Ruin DEX+:Superior (+50) Critical Hit Rate:Superior (+30%) Critical Hit Damage:Major (+30%)
Sanguine Scythe HP+: Major(20%) Critical Hit Damage:Major (+30%) Enmity+: Minor (+20)
Apoc

Apoc for obvious reasons (RR incase something goes down and the Triple Attack is nice)
RR and SS together adds 30% Crit Hit Rat and 60% Crit Hit Damage...not to mention the extra 50 DEX which is the mod for Rudra.

Do you by any chance sub the magian TP dagger?

As for the using the Finishing moves....If you're just doing Rudra onces... just need 1 FM (2 if it's consider a two hit WS which im still unsure on that)

As for me I just have a macro that does Climactic Flourish then Rudra right after....
And since my step macros have presto before them either way... I'd have 2-3 FM which is fine for one rudra

Now....if you want to make Darkness out of it.....that's a different story...
I have two different Darkness macros.

1. Rudra's Storm > Evisceration (could use pyric instead but the aftermath can't is just nice)
2. (Already have FM on me) Climactic Flourish > No Foot Rise > Rudra's Storm > Reverse Flourish > Rudra's Storm.
Note: Due to the TP dagger except for maybe the first rudra i do......@100TP it's really 200TP

Now mind you It's rare i can pull #2 off in a group situation with everyone spamming stuff but if I'm able to do it.....it'll do nice damage in abyssea right right stuff.

I don't attempt to do Darkness as much in party situation but low manning I take that to my advantage.

I'll try to screenshot a picture but when I did Nonno (mandy nm in Abyssea - Misareaux) about a week ago, with Red Curry Bun and I believe Stalwart Tonic I did over 15k damage with Darkness #2 Which for DNC in general.....rather amazing.

No idea if Mandy are weak to dagger or weak to the Darkness Elements but it was nice to see that. Now I don't do that much compared to like thicker NMs like say Alfard but Rudra opens up DNCs damage output in abyssea......outside probably not so much.....

Compared to the others Rudra's rather meh by itself...

No Fusetto on offhand.
I was expecting Daka +2 to be a good hybrid solo weapon on its own for killing stuff faster, but it looks like I was right on its usefulness.
It's not about "You just need 1 FM", but rather "I can't control it without being otherwise inefficient".
So if you have reverse flourish ready, 100+ TP, 5FM, and 12-13 secs recast remaining on Flourish III, You'd just wait the recast then WS? If I DW AGI Kila in this case, I can stick on a more Occam's razor way of dealing out damage and keep the FM->TP cycling.

The damage upgrade is pretty low in chart, not to mention at the cost of its execution practicality.
Even Blade: Hi is a better upgrade to Jin because you don't need a lot of setting up once you got enough TP; You can just unleash it.

That I will not disagree with.. .yes Rudra by itself is rather....i guess meh....from what I was told.... Rudra is only tad better then Dancing Edge in most cases... (outside abyssea)

I'd wish Rudra was a tad stronger...to atleast be on par with evisceration if not better (w/o climactic flourish)

As far the Climactic Darkness goes.... i rarely do it unless it's a low man situation where if that's the case....it adds a rather nice increase to damage.... Really I just do Climactic Rudra and thats it when it's up.... which 9/10 I'll have steps on me anyway so it's not hindering me as much.... while Climactic is down I'm just doing how i normally do which is normally if anything, Evisceration... or Rudra -> Evisceration Darkness

thanks for the atma suggestions, I'll try sanguine next time. Dnc is what I use for soloing, or lowman outside LS runs, so I'm not too concerned about it being a little on the weak side.
