Pretty self-explanatory. Has any one tried this on DNC since the level cap raise? If not, does anyone have any input for trying this on 85 DNC? Looked for newer info here and on wiki to no avail.
thanks

Sounds like it could be done with a decent evasion setup. Keeping shadows up and managing to avoid extremely bad breath should be all it takes.

I'm gonna try it sometime for the hell of it >.>

Haha. Let us know it goes. Good luck.

Well I think it's safe to say I don't think it can be done as /nin...Just can't get far enough away from it from the breath. Tanking it is easy though.

I forgot to try Desperate Flourish but I don't think that lasts long enough. I might even try again for the hell of it >.>

I think rdm sub would work if Desperate doesn't as /nin. If you can manage to tank and remove weight then cast gravity (wiki says it's resistance increases over time) at it's first breath warning then run like hell to whatever the safe distance is. Those movement speed boots from Abyssea I bet would make it very possible.

Overall I think it would all be based on luck and evasion gear as /rdm

It also gets crazy with the breath spammage at low health. I don't think it needs tp to do it. :/ I tried it once when level cap was still 75 with nin+rdm combo, around 30% could get maybe one swing in between breaths. And ws'ing was the death of the nin, then he couldn't get far enough. ^_^;;

Gravity from /RDM is almost certain to not work, and definitely won't work better than Desperate Flourish. Not to mention that not using /NIN in this fight is suicide. (Get hit once with his Engravity and you're probably screwed; even if you can heal it with Healing Waltz, it leaves you very vulnerable to EBB)

The most important thing is to already be running *before* EBB starts being readied. If you only start running as soon as you see it being readied, you're screwed. And yeah, I would be sporting the +movement shoes. If you don't have them, get them; they are easy to obtain.

I know evading EBB can be pulled off, because I've escaped from EBB while in melee range on RDM before, and I didn't have any +movement gear then. The real question to me is whether a DNC can get in enough damage before timing out. It might seem at first that it'll be easy to do so, but as the fight goes on, it will become harder and harder for melee jobs to get damage in due to increasing EBB rate.

It doesn't. It's purely based on time, and as its HP falls the time required lessens.

Second most important thing about this fight to keep in mind: don't hit it so much early on in the fight (when the time during EBBs is greater) such that you give it enough TP to use another move. Bad Breath almost certainly means death. Sweet Breath is probably death unless you've been using poison pots or some equivalent, because EBB usually comes right afterward.
