DNC Latest and Greatest Accomplishments!Follow

I didnt want to create a new thread but my latest attempt was a failure.

I just tried to solo Roc, i was amazed he was up and unclaimed.

I dont really know much about Roc having never fought him before (or seen him before) so i ate Carbonara and popped fan dance, and just started to wail away at him in full EVA gear...

I got him to roughly 50% pretty fast, in about 6 minutes or so... i was really surprised, but then he used benediction and recovered 17000 HP !! i didnt know he was gonna do this lol...

So i thought to myself, no problem and i started again... so i get him down to 50% again and he starts evading more... starts hitting more... i could sense the start of a rage... but i had only been on him for 15 mins tops... i thought he raged at 30 mins?

Anyway, i started treading water, before when i was being hit for 90 i am now being hit for 200... 220... 240... 290!! gradually he was beating me down and i knew i wasnt going to win with the tactics i had chosen.

So i found a safe place to die, and then i decided to take it on the chin... Roc 1, me 0.

So i AFK and rest up for 15 mins waiting for a freind to log on to help me (which makes me feel inferior) and then i notice a PLD soloing ROC... and ROC was at 2%... i REALLY felt inferior now... i just ran back to Jueno and sort of wept in a corner...

Whatever i tried just didnt work, i had no problem surviving until the apparent rage... i even thought my DD outpuit was ok... but clearly it was not...

I am fully merited, and i failed...

So my most recent accomplishment as a Dancer was to let myself down, and i am embarresed about it...

If anyone has solod him on DNC (and i am sure theres lots of you that have) then maybe if you let me know what your tactics were?

My evade and out last Roc method just didnt cut it... i died with him at 25%...

He smacked me all over Sauremuge towards the end of the fight, upwards of 300 per hit... and it hurt.

Got DNC AF3 hands +1 last night. I haven't tested the skillchain bonus yet (nothing has enough HP in the zones I've been in), but the reverse flourish bonus seems to follow:
1 Finishing - +1
2 Finishing - +2
3 Finishing - +4
4 Finishing - +8
5 Finishing - +12

On christmas day i got my 10th body seal for the +1 body, and on new years eve i got my 8th hands seal for the +1 hands (i targetted the body before the hands).

And on 2nd January i finished my OA 2-4x dagger.

I keep forgetting to get some numbers on it, will try to have some this week. Eye balling i would say it has the same distribution for 1-3 hits with 4 hits being around 10-15%.

It kinda loses luster now that there is more DA/TA gear and atmas...but i stick with mine cause ive already made it and want to get some use out of it lol...

Yeah i got lucky and met an awesome drg who dual boxes orthrus and all the pops up to him. He handed me the mantle, seals, and jewels and said he would get me again when he goes to farm next time...kinda sad that i made more progress on my af3 with him alone compared to farming with my entire LS =P

Charis Tiara +2 get! It's the easiest piece to get, but whatever. It's my second DNC +2 item now.

Twashtar(85) obtained! And I've got my foot jammed in the door for Orthus with 4/75 claws. The long path continues ...

The good news is that I can now officially dispense cake with my cake dagger.

Just did a small-ish parse on the OA4 dagger (~2500 attack rounds) and came up with the following:

2549 attack rounds (no DA or TA gear on of course, single wielded dagger with 6% slow so Kparser would read it a bit better)

1 hit: 47.1%
2 hits: 24.75%
3 hits 15.66%
4 hits: 12.49%

Of course, Kparser has a rep of not counting additional attacks right since it tends to group them together when you have consecutive procs, but I think this gives a decent picture of the spread.

The game (or possibly the whole world) will probably end tomorrow seeing as though everything in the world was keeping me from this accomplishment...

Yes, I know, very very late in getting this, but gdi feels good to not be so gimp in abyssea anymore...

Congratulations on Twashtar(90)! It feels good to be finished ... if only for a few more months.

Also, wouldn't getting a Shadow Belt and Shadow Gorget cover both Evisceration and Rudra's Storm? That would keep the need for having two gorgets and two belts on you all the time. I wish you good luck on getting the Torero Torque ... in my experiences that NM is in the extremes of not fun. It is a very nice piece, though.

Yeah . . . well, maybe until June. Legend has it that there won't be a level cap raise in the next update, so maybe no more trials.

Also, some day I may go with Shadow Gorget/belt for inventory reasons, but the other job I go out on a lot is WAR and Aqua Gorget/belt cover Raging Rush. My plan for Panktokrator is basically to TH it and brew it... probably AoE'ly so I can hit the T3 VNM and Apedemak with the same brew.

Conflux 7 Strategy:
1) Pop Apedemak on WAR, Blue him, TH him, have someone tank him.
2) Thief comes with me and pop Panktokrator. Tanks it while feeding a minimum of TP. Don't even try to proc Blue.
3) I go pull the T3 VNM.
4) When I get to camp, everyone pulls the monsters on top of each other and I pop a brew with dagger, Aeolian Edging them all to death.

After that I can go engage Conflux 7 or something to try and preserve my brew if we want to kill another Apedemak or Panktokrator or something, but basically this gives me one shot at three NMs with one brew, two with TH and one with Blue. All three NMs are pains in the ass, so I'm willing to toss a brew in there just to avoid the pain. I want the 100% drop off the T3 and Apademak, the blue drop off Apademak, and the TH-dependent drop off Panktokrator, so this is convenient. I bet I could do it with WHM, PLD, BLM, THF, WAR.

Torero Torque is a priority for at least two people in the group I go with, so I bet we end up doing this at least twice.

Yeah... I dumped mine for about 9mil when I got the other three haste belts.

Recent accomplishments:
* Finished my AF3+2
* 90 Twashtar
* Worked on my Waltz build a little (Phurba, new CHR ring)
* Got random items (the Utsu necklace, elemental belts, Cuchulain's belt, etc.)
* Leveled my mule's clothcraft to 98. Hooray for Foulard.

My remaining list of non-buyable things I want for Dancer:
* Waltz+4% Dance Shoes (no luck, 2% so far)
* Temperance Torque for Waltz
* Denali hands/legs for MDT and Aeolian Edge respectively
* Moonshade earring (TP Bonus+25, Atk+4)
* Furin Obi for Aeolian Edge on Windsday
* Crit +3 Wivre Gorget (somehow I only got +2 out of 50 Glavoid shells)

For bought things:
* I'd like to play around with an Alcd. Harness +1, but odds are good I wouldn't keep it long
* Fugacity mantle is probably our best evasion option, but I can't bring myself to spend that much gil for Evasion+2.
* Maybe a Goblin Cracker.

Yay just got Loki's for my WS setup. Very happy with my progress over the last couple days.

Still trying to find a strong static so I can finish my AF3+2 while building popsets...feels so close yet so far away...

DNC90, NIN46, Charis Necklace, Auric Dagger, Brisk Mask, Atheling Mantle. Tons more updates to come! :O

1/3 against Laila as of last night, on my 2nd account.

Screwed up the first try. Got medicated from something not on wikis medicated list (still not sure what, but I think it was a Hi-Reraiser) and didn't notice until I tried to use my Icarus Wing ; ;

2nd attempt she used nothing but Dancing Edges, and after 4 DEs of my own including self-skillchain she was still on ~30% and demolised me.

3rd attempt, used Pizza instead of sushi, upgraded my att futher by about +10 more, and completely destroyed her. Very nearly outright killed her :D I now have 20 odd Hi-Potions to get rid of...

On my main account I went 1/1 on Maat with almost painful ease on BLM (nuke, stun, sleep, nuke, done), so it was quite refreshing to try this fight, and I've been looking forward to it since I made this character. Certainly the first big challenge I've faced on DNC. Hopefully not the last.

Dinged 71 and 230 Dagger skill. Now working on Evisceration.

Convinced a random RDM who seems like a nice guy but doesn't have much Abyssea experience that we could duo Sippoy. We wiped at 20%, but I didn't care because at exactly 57%, this RDM who had never so much as set foot in sky before the level cap increase Broke his Wall.

The smiling faces of the children are the greatest loot of all.

Another incredibly minor achievement, Furin Obi! (Merciful cape also, but not dancer-related)

Now I need:
Crit+3 Wivre Gorget (@2 right now)
Temperance Torque (0/2 today with 90THF+2)
Denali hands (for a better MDT build)

After that, I should be entirely done gearing Dancer. There are other sets I could make, but I don't have room in active inventory for them (more MAcc gear, more Acc gear for Steps, pure PDT set). Writing myself a better spellcast should take priority over all other gear improvements, but lab has been consuming all my mental energies lately and I don't feel like doing it when I get home.

I'm off to California for spring break. See you guys! I hope the update treats Dancer kindly. =p

PS. Ix'Mnk and Temperance can both be DNC soloed. I personally duo them with my THF/WHM mule though. TH, Stona, Dia II, and Haste make things faster, safer, and more productive.

I have made exactly 0 progress on Dancer gear since my last post. Actually, I kind of made negative progress because I accidentally NPCed my wivre gorget.

I've gotten 14 glavoid shells in the process of trying to replace my crit Wivre gorget. I might try to work on Ukon for my WAR and suspend the last few minor improvements to dancer gear.

The brew strategy is a good one. If you're going to tank it and not brew, have your white mage out of party and Flail tank it. Keep in mind that his sleep wing will still hit out of party, so /SCH with Sublimation might not be a bad idea just to wake yourself up on WHM.

I was able to duo Azdaja with MNK+WHM. They MNK put azdaja on top of conflux 7(I think it's seven?) while myself, on WHM, stood way up at the top of the hill. The MNK just counterstance /war tanked him, killed in about 10mins or so

Not sure really; I think it has something to do with the counterstance tanking that also increased the killspeed. My MNK didn't have his cruor buffs or anything dispelled in 3 azdaja duos.

Finally finished my Twashtar (90)! :D

Charis casaque +2 done last night so finally 5/5.

And one more accomplishment achieved today before I lose both my name and my server next week.

The one thing that I've wanted more than anything out of the last update ever since I first saw it in the .dat mining...
