So right after acp came out I beat it and got mirke with petacc/petMacc augments. Since I also have whm/brd/blm/smn/drg/war/bst/cor/thf, I really havn't worn my mirke as much as I would like to. I normally end up as whm or brd for endgame/LS events and don't get to play with Pup as much as I'd like. When some friends were redoing the acp fight earlier today, I decided to toss my mirke and go for another piece that I might be able to wear more often.
However, after redoing the fight, and looking at the other options, I still find myself coming back to teh Mirke for Pup....It just seems to be the overall most useful/unique piece.
With the recent pupdates, I was curious if the new h2h increase or pup defense has changed any opinions about which augments to go for.
Was there a dominant choice pre-update?
Any change?
Anybody have any regrets?

I took Acc+10 and Pet:MAB/MACC before the PUPdate. Afterwards, I'm still happy with what I've got. :)

Actually, a while ago I ended up tossing my mirke (back in like, feb.) for a DRG body, and the PUPdate made me come back to a mirke with acc+10 pet:acc/r.acc+15.

^^ Same augments here, still happy. I chose the pet magic augments when ACP was brand new, and the reasoning for keeping them remains the same - there's still no other pet magic enhancing body in the game. Unique AND powerful, great combination.
Paired mine with the +10 Acc, makes it a solid TP/WS piece. Essentially an Enkidu's Harness sidegrade from the DD/WS perspective, the Acc+10/STR+5 are the same so you're looking at Mirke's DEX+5 versus Enkidu's Atk+10. (yes, Enkidu's has evasion +5 too)
I use Mirke with mage frames and for WS, Pantin Tobe with SS/VE, and that covers me on PUP.
FWIW, I'm also still quite pleased with my original MKE/ASA choices - WS Acc+15/STR+4, Acc+10/Atk+5 Anwig Salade, and Haste+3%/Acc+7 Desultor Tassets.

If I used SR more I might have gotten pet macc/mab, but I chose acc/atk and I am content with it for my PUP, MNK, and THF. Were I to bother getting enkidu's harness I would probably redo it with duel wield or possibly pet macc/mab.
Doesn't seem like there are really too many options besides mirkegeon, DW mirke, smn body or pup body. Meh to STP bodies, PLD body was basically replaced with Iron Ram, and not really sure what other combos people chose.

I'd really like to know the reasoning behind your choice. I might be going in the same direction now that we can actually do much more than 0 on things of note.

DRG doesn't even need body for a 6hit, just rajas and rose strap. And in many situations askar body is better than ACP stp because DRG is the least accuracy requiring job in the game: acc bonus II, two handed, A+ weapon, sam subbing. With just that and merits they have 74% hitrate naked on birds or 40~55 acc short of most end game activities.
So personally I think ACP STP bodies are silly.

I went with pet macc/matk and master acc and was very pleased. I used Pantin Tobe for TP and Mirke for pummel.
However since then I finished Usukane Body which I use for both TP and WS so the acc on the mirke is no longer needed. I will replace it with pet acc/racc and make it a pet-only body.
