So apparently Flame, Soil and Shadow gorget all effect Stringing Pummel (according to wiki).

So my question is, is one "better" then the other? Or is it just "look at the other WSs for cross-job use".

The only cross-job use is on NIN for Blade:Ten.

Pretty much, they all have the same effect just on different ws' so focus on the one you'll get the most use out of

They're all the same potency-wise. Find the one that covers the most WSs to try to minimize the number of gorgets you need to farm up. I have most of my big WSs covered with snow and flame, the two biggest being stringing pummel and drakesbane, both working with flame gorget. Up to you which one is worth it.

Thunder Gorget for Dragon Kick & Howling Fist.

As far as Stringing Pummel goes, I'd say it depends on what other jobs you use. I'm going with Soil for Pummel since I use melee RDM in campaign (sans Death Blossom) and Soil can cover for Evisceration, Savage Blade, and Vorpal Blade as well.
