So, here I am, low on gil (or at least low enough to not be able to afford not even one of the "big" attachments), and I was wondering about the Ashu Talif battles...

How difficult are they?

Could I convince my Nyzul static to do them from time to time? Jobs available are SCH (Me), RDM, SAM, SAM/DRK/RNG/THF/COR, SAM/NIN/PLD, SAM/PLD/BST/RDM, so I guess we should be able to cover most strategies.

Are they profitable enough, or the big money items (PUP Attachments, basically) have low drop rate? (This is important to try to convince them :P)

And finally, for those who do the fights, is there some strategy advice I could get for the fights?

If they have reasonable drops, I think this is the best time to do them, now that the prices of the big attachments have skyrocketed.

I've been trying to get my LS to help me out on these forever. I finally got 6 people to help but one left so we tried it with 5

Idk the name it's the one with the imps that cast AMs and the fomor waves.

Setup: Pld blm blm whm/rdm(idr) sam the 6th would of been a sam or brd

The first few waves up to about 15 were cake we usually just pulled them and had the blms nuke for kills and pld use sanction/invic every few waves to lower dmg (u get items every few waves). After 15 however the mobs weren't dieing to single aoes and we ended up loseing a blm and wipeing to a bad call (the imp NM was spawning and we tried to get it to aoe at the bottom of the stairs and then have the pld run up but we messed up).

i think we ended on wave 18 and they all pretty much refuse to do it again. It was fairly easy though and i think with a 6th we would be fine for future runs (it was our first we didnt really know what to exspect)

Edit: I've read on wiki that a smn is able to solo most of the waves after 10? useing the revitaliers they get to just astral flow burn it with titan but i've never seen it so idk for sure

The first fight seems to be the hardest since you need jobs that can drop things fast. Blues, summoners(Making use of the revitilizers), black mages and monks(Again making use of the revitilizers) are fantastic things to bring out to the first fight. After that, any normal set up will work.(FOr first 2 and 3.)

Seconding that BLUs are fantastic for the first fight. I did it with 2 BLUs, and it becomes really easy then. Frypan FTW. PUP's not bad on it either, just keep your pet safe (I personally am usually on MNK for Ashu, but I go with another PUP).

Targeting the Captain isn't so bad. Bring a healer or two (I go for two), someone who can tank the captain, and some DDs. The imps are easy. Opo-opo hits a little hard but can be taken out fairly fast. Captain is a slow and steady fight, just have your healers be on the ball cause he does hit hard.

As for the automaton parts... they don't always drop from Targeting the Captain. IDK a percentage, but it's not abysmally low, nor is it a near 100% chance. Getting an automaton attachment is certainly a better drop rate than, say, the big ticket items from ENM fights though. And you're looking at a 50% chance of one of the really expensive ones. Plus you can get other drops like Barbarossa's legs/hands, some decent money crafting materials (Bloodwood Log, Hydra Scale, etc.), and the fights are fun.

Current price estimates on my server, Titan:
Tranquilizer ~1.2 to 1.5mil
Turbo Charger ~1.2mil
Economizer ~900k to 1.2mil
Optic Fiber ~800k-1mil
Condenser ~500k
Schurzen - 100 to 150k
Dynamo ~50k
Reactive Shield ~10k

Our group shares the profits of the big money items (essentially Condenser or better on the above list), and everything else is free lot.
