I never noticed before but last night while camping Truffle I stumbled upon the fact that Thunder Maneuvers were adding damage to the SS frames Ranged Attacks. 3 Thunder Maneuvers added about 26 DMG, with or without thunder based parts equipped. Just seemed strange to me.
Also Daze was seriously out doing Armor Piercer DMG, by anywhere from 700-800, with the highest of the night being 2715. Granted I hardly ever use Daze but I don't remember it ever doing that much damage. This was at 300% TP with 3 thunders up btw, the average was around 2300. I'm guessing this was already know to others but I thought I would bring it up anyways.

It's the Dex, not really the maneuver itself. Just look at salvage, and unlock Dex. Your puppet will increase noticeably in damage.

I assumed it was the DEX, I'm just completely unaware of the DEX -> Ranged Damage relationship. I didn't know about the Salvage thing though, I'm not in there too often.

Yeah, noticed this a while back, DEX was increasing ranged base damage. ¯\(º_o)/¯ Very odd but that's how it works.

That was on a bee, was somewhere in the nature of 1900~2000 on the mushrooms.

For the dex affecting the ws damage, Sharpshot ranged attacks work like phyical blue magic or weaponskills. They have a DEX 30% and STR 18% modifier (they also use ranged skill to determine base damage, like h2h or blue magic).
I don't know how DEX works with Daze specifically, and it doesn't look like the wiki has that info either.

how does this fair in merits? If you could do close to ap dmg it might be worth trying for 3x thunfer up ya? I mean with 3 thunder and DA attachment that would be a lot more dot and probably more ws? Anyone try?

Because it doesn't increase ranged damage in this (for us PCs, anyway).

Meh, I'd rather have 3 APs over 1 Daze of that strength. Neat in concept though.
I had no idea about the DEX thing raising ranged attack damage, but as for the numbers you were hitting, Daze is a beast on any low level/low defense monster. Armor Piercer's main usage comes from the fact that it has that 'Ignores defense' property. AP in most normal cases will struggle to break 2k with 1 Fire man. on a low level monster (Don't recall ever trying one on a low level mob with more than 1 Fire man.), wheras Daze can easily hit 3k on some monsters.
