Corsair Achievement Thread.Follow

Dinged COR 75! Got from 73 to 74.5 in a single 2hr merit party on Saturday, then campaigned the last .5 level yesterday! Woot!

Hilariously, even though I never do endgame stuff, I'll be taking my new 75 COR to Ouryu and Bahamut II fights on Wednesday. I'd love to have fold and snake eye unlocked by then... but I'm not sure I'll have the time to get the merits...

Recently powerleveled my way to 58 all in badass LS sync parties, hopefully 75 soon.

The only ranged weapon my COR has ever equipped: darts.

Last night Skadi Body 35 piece dropped.

I've had the 25 for 6 months and the 15 for 3 years.

I have the gil to buy the mats to upgrade minus about 1M I'd need to farm up/sell inferior gear to get.

I have not seen Peryton in 10+ Bhaflau 4th Floor rampart runs and the groups I've run with only do 4th floor approximately 20% of the time.

I put Perfect Dodge up on Thief.

Sturmwind killed me.

I reraised and before I could lot and others could pass we got kicked out.

This has been an achievement of the monstrous unluckiness of Jurist.

I didn't reply because the trolling was a little too blatant. You were just begging for someone to criticize so you could respond with your reason for using darts only, as you just did.

All I have to say is, hope you have marksmanship leveled from another job. If so, congratulations on your experience points. If not, enjoy your many hours of skilling up.

Not much of an "achievement" at any rate. Should I also brag to the SCH forum that I got level 30+ SCH in my sleep simply leeching off my friend's SMN-burn party? Would you be impressed if I leveled my RNG to 50+ exclusively by meleeing with axes/daggers and never using a ranged attack?

Well done SE, you've proved to us that you've learned next to nothing.
Maybe in another 6 months you'll figure out why you have no players of 11 or 14, cause you sure as hell don't inspire any confidence about 14 being any different as of late.

Meh...could be worse. You could be using darts to pull or something.

I already am doing that. Thing is, that's the smart thing for me to do in lowbie sync parties, unlike hitting on 4s for Hunter's Roll.

By the way, 69 now, 20/20 Phantom Rolls, and more than enough money left over for me to ding 70 in a pair of Hermes Sandals, thanks to not spending a fortune on expendables. :D

Just hit 75 doing pretty much the same damned thing.

Oh my! Very nice indeed, and it tempts me to risk my own. But then I remember that last week when I tried to augment a Behemoth Ring, I got... Enmity +1. That's my kind of "luck".

I'm starting to be a bit more brash in the past month or so - doubling up on unlucky VIs without Fold up and everything ;)

Maybe I'll actually give it a shot. I don't really care if I get a "useless" augment (e.g. Thunder resist +8) since I'm not planning to ever get rid of my Martial. I'd just chalk it up to fate and accept my Martial as-is (I don't really have the funds to keep tossing what will become non-sellable Martial Guns to fate). I'm just dreading something like STR-, AGI-, Enmity. I think I'm mentally preparing myself though, because I would be thrilled with any amount of extra STR, AGI, or R.Acc.

(I'm seriously, seriously debating augmenting my Hades Sainti for PUP and MNK too - my equivalent "prized weapon" on those jobs as compared to Martial for my COR)

Brass Borer downed in 53m taking 0 damage myself (3 shadows used)

Add Anantaboga to the list, although I didn't get him before he raged, took me 1h30m total and about 30m for the last 10% due to my shots going from about 380 to 42 >.>

How many attempts? That goes for chewzer too.. Also wondering if people are seeing more chuncks of Raac on a HQ Amemet.

Went 1/8. Very easy fight nin/dnc, but the spawn time can be a bitch. Anywhere from 2 to 5 hours from what I saw.

Was my first try. I just happened to have my guns in satchel when I headed up to Sky. I fully intended to augment Corsair's Gun, but I had a few drinks in me and decided at the last minute to risk the Martial. Solo'ed on RDM/BLM, no idea what the day/weather was.

Nice Filian. I have a CUH and Shooting Mirke so it's not a piece I'm aiming for, but I understand the difficulty of obtaining it and the dedication. Good work.

Finally saw a Martial on the AH, spent all of my gil on it, and ended up with +1 DEX.. My first had +1 AGI.. If the 1 AGI isn't hitting a new WSC, and I'm at 95% WS hit rate, then the point of DEX is an improvement when meleeing..

Talk about underwhelming.. /still envy at people with lots of Raac on it.

Its not quite as exciting, but I finally got Sarabande Earring to drop (1/14). I ended up picking ethereal earring from Apoc Nigh and have been trying to find another +acc earring to pair with diabolos for quite a while. Its not a tremendous amount of acc, but on mamool I'll take everything I can get.

Since there was some discussion about it earlier in this thread, I got an amemet mantle +1 with +1 AGI on it today (and no negative stats). It was my third try. I think I'll just stop and be content with that. I've yet to see any +2 AGIs on other players and the most racc I've seen so far is +2 racc. In some of my steups the +1 AGI actually does make a difference for the ws mod and in most of them it gives me an even amount of AGI and hence at least +1 acc.

Time to try some foragers for +melee acc :(

Rover's Gloves 1/3!

I see Veuglaire as a QD only QD Acc gun.. Since Peacemaker has 5 AGI itself (and the -Enmity is even helpful), I don't see Veuglaire as a big deal - similar to say, Rover's Gloves and Skadi's Bazubands.. But Rover's Gloves can be used on all QD (not just QD only situations), and they have +25 MP.. So I'd think Veuglaire is rather situational and even less important than Rover's..

That said, I'd rather have it than not.. The one time I bothered to scout it out.. It takes a long time for a COR to kill the PHs.. They have 7,000 to 7,500 HP, and I'd imagine the Grand Marids have even more.

7,500 HP at 300 per QD is 25 Quick Draws.. That's 1,125 seconds on a 45 sec QD, or almost 19 minutes. That's not cool when the repop timer is 5 minutes on them.. So it's inefficient for COR to kill the PH solo.. But I feel the item at stake isn't exactly important to me, so how I can I ask for help on this?

How have you all been going about this? What I'll probably do is, when I have a little time to kill and nothing springs to mind, go empty my Random Deals and Wild Card on some PHs and at some point Mahishasura will make an appearance.


Edit - when I went out there, Mahishasura was just up.. But my luck wasn't all good.. I R0'd (but didn't fully d/c - this is the norm for me at least once a day) twice, both times dying as once he catches up to you, you're raped.. At 1% my controller cut out.. It had throughout, but this was bad timing.. Fortunately my SMN friend was otw as my friend who was there as TH needed raising (Thf engaged at 1% without shadows, bad things followed since the hate decays quickly).. TH4 on, 1/1, mercifully.

Got joy-toy after 5 years of playing <<. But to be fair, I've only camped it 3-4 times in that span.
