With cap blu magic skill it can be piece of cake 1/1 or pull your hair out annoying 1/100 of seeing the spell. As for the mobs that most blu spells come off none really pose to much of a problem being too weak or easy pray.

Even with meeting the skill requirements for the spell, it can and is completely random as far as learning them. The process to learn them hasn't changed at all (just whittle them down until they finally use the TP move, then go from there), but it's random as to if you'll learn it quickly or if it'll take you several tries. I've had very good streaks of luck in the past learning spells, but I've also run into a handful of spells that took absolutely forever to learn.

Winds of promy... Moooooan.

People above are right, it is random. Often I get first try since my magic is capped at 99... But often I spend ages on a spell with no luck.

Some mobs are quirky. Like Vampyrs only seemed to wanna use Bloodrake above a certain HP%. Plus for something like **** a part of me felt the mob was less likely to use it if it didn't have a debuff on it to cure. These, of course, may be exceptions, but mobs have been shown to have some reactionary behavior to their AIs... like shadows popping Dimensional Death after you WS them as long as they have TP.

believe me I use lots of dia on the basterds... they just have SO MANY tp moves, I don't actually think one has used the spell yet.

Well sometimes it is tough. But I do have a good way of doing it. I get the mob down to low hp and then I turn my back. Well I do not turn my back on tough mobs. But majority of spells can be learned from low level mobs. I learned off of too weak mobs pretty often. If you are fighting too weak mobs, just do your best to give them tp from dia and try to keep them alive until they use the spell you are after. Then wait until the spell is both finished and for something around a quarter of a second, then kill them as quickly as possible.

I know most of my jobs are over 90. But I have not played in over a year. My favorite job is Blu level 99.
