How many people at 90 are required to kill this and how does it compare to fights like diablos and fenrir prime?

Should be soloable by quite a few jobs at 90. Adds might be annoying though, there's quite a few things in the same room that I believe will still aggro 90. I'd say go with two 90's to air on the side of caution, at least one of which should have some kind of healing capacity. I'd be highly surprised if you need any more than that. I duo-ed it at 75 with NIN+WHM.

It was duo-able at Lv.75 cap, so yeah, it's an easy solo now, especially if the job has some factor of healing. The four Tonberry in the room will still aggro at Lv.75+, but (for now) they're on a 16 minute repop, so you have plenty of time to kill the NM after clearing the mobs.
Killed it a few times as 90 SMN looking for the Light Spirit Pact, it's about a 5 minute kill, don't even need to resummon Garuda. Just make sure that your tonberry hate isn't too high, as Everyone's Grudge can still be a threat.

Soloed it on several jobs at 75. I'm willing to bet that at 90 all of them could do it. Some of them might need /DNC.
But yeah, now that I think about it, I'm interested in picking up a Rancor Collar now, which means I can't reset my Tonberry hate anymore... that's going to be a potential problem with this fight if I ever do it again unless I use a pet job or something, which I generally don't like doing. Thankfully, nowadays it's very possible for SMNs to get Carby down to 1/tic without these mitts or even a magian -perp staff, meaning there's probably some SMNs out there that will just skip these mitts entirely now. Already tossed out my own mitts >_>

Not only is it possible, but it is done very easily. I get 3 MP per tic back when I have Carby out, even without favor. It's the same with all of my avatars. And I don't even have the magian staves.
Understanding this is an older post, this still may help. I solo'd it using 95BST with Gorefang Hobbs. Clear the room. Very easy. Blink, Stoneskin is recommended but I went /blm so I can warp home. Searing light hits RIGHT AWAY but only did about 200ish on me. I put hobbs and the toneberry on the stairs then ran to the other side of the room. I still got hit with subsequent searing lights but only for a few hundred each (I'm Galka). There MAY have been a hate reset, I don't recall. The NM did run to me at one point for some reason. Pretty easy in those conditions and I got the mitts.
