I was just wondering if I should get either Geocrush or Thunderstorm. I already capped out Grand Fall because I like it ^^. I want to know if the stun is worth getting ^^.
i'm still lvl 1 smn (gonna be taking it up soon) but...
all the 75 meritable BPs have the same base dmg, the only differences are:
1: geocrush has a stun
2: different elements for resists
so, because they all do the same dmg, and only one has a bonus ability (geocrush) everyone takes it up.
if it is worth it is kinda up to you. i know a lot of people merit wind blade, the garuda one because they leave her out a lot more; or people will merit thunderstorm or heavenly strike because they like the lightning or ice from ramuh and shiva respectively.
personally, i am looking at geocrush (for the stun) and wind blade (because garuda is cheaper to keep out with the right gear) because those would be the ones used most for me.

As far as I'm concerned, Geocrush is sort of like a HQ lvl 75 pact. It's a cute little bonus that can be handy on occasion. Truthfully though, just merit the ones whose animations you like seeing the most, as they're all essentially the same.
It is bothersome though that only Titan's has the added effect. Why not slap on a unique effect to each pact? It wouldn't be that difficult. I'm probably just being anal but it bugs me >.>.

Does anyone have experience with using the 75 bp's in the prime avatar battles?
If you used a max merited thunderstorm against Ramuh who has strong resist to thunder, would it do more dmg than a Lv.1 75 thunderstorm against Leviathan?
I had planned on unlocking them all for use against the primes and I figured using them in order of elemental strength was better than just having one maxed 75bp to use against them all. Anyone know?

Have you fought the avatars yet? I'm pretty certain ramuh absorbs thunder so you'll just heal him for more HP.
And I'm not sure if picking your merits based on doing avatar battles is good or not, but it is your choice.
I have and beat them many times but I have never used the same element as an attack against one. I know it seems odd but I want to be strong against things I do on a regular and almost daily basis. I don't know alot about end game and how often someone does the same end game events so I would rather not at this time build for that.

Hmm, didn't know avatars had negative resistance. Level 1 BPs shouldn't do above about 800, usually you need more like level 4 to reach 1k.
Well, just go for all of them if you aren't really doing endgame. I've used mine at endgame and I keep feeling disappointed. 400 damage geocrush on Ultima with level 4 BP. I was hoping some unresisted nuking after all that work to get them, but at least it stuns.

I'm new to the smn threads, been a 75drg for a long time and smn is the 2nd I am taking to 75. Now Geocrush has a Stun effect, but what about Chaotic Strike? It can Atun for up to 15sec, so wouldn't that make Geocrush kinda pointless or is the Stun on Chaotic Strike a random proc? If so, how often does it proc? I know at the least it is based on whether or not it hits.

Chaotic Strike is a Thunder-based stun effect. Geocrush is actually a stun effect that proc's on top of an Earth based attack. Which means it can be used on mobs that resist Thunder, but don't necessarily resist Stun.

That's probably more accurate, especially since Chaotic Strike has no elemental affinity. It's physical.
